What a weird movie! I went last Friday night, and it was one of the weirdest horror flicks that I've ever seen in my life! For those of you who've not seen it it's a remake of a Japenese horror movie, and it's about how when people are murdered in rage the rage carries on after they're dead.

For those who've seen it, somebody tell me why the mother wasn't affected like everybody else. My wife said it was because she never went upstairs, but Karen saw the thing downstairs.

My kids have seen it and said it was soooo scary! My son's opinion of the mother not being affected like the others is that the ghost was a mother herself, so maybe that made a difference?

I saw it! I really liked it, considering most horror flicks these days aren't all that scary. I found the ending to be weak though - I prefer movies to have more of a definitive ending, rather than keeping it open-ended.

Anyway, if you remember, Karen did have the same reaction everyone else did, which landed her in the hospital for a little while. I'm not sure why she later didn't have the same reaction, but maybe that's because she had already seen it and was clued into what was going on.

I guess that makes since. Phish, I actually thought the ending was kind of cool, although it freaked me out when the nurse or doctor said that they were able to save the house. It made me wonder if they're gonna make a sequel.

in the end... (for you peeps who saw it) did you notice the 'lady' standing in the exam room with the doctor (you could only see her back) That long haired lady never left the room when the doctor walked out to bring SMG back in to view the body...

Oh, I'm sure they will. They're coming out with The Ring 2, and that did fairly well at the theatre. The Grudge has been doing very well, so I'm willing to be there will probably be a sequel.

CommuterMike - I did not pick up on the fact that the lady never left the room. HHhmmm.

Neither did I.

I'll have to ask the kids if they noticed that. I'm afraid to see it...I get a little freaked at scary movies!

That new movie called "Birth" looks freaky!

ewww Nicole has a bath scene with that 10 year old in that movie. (at least she had a swimsuit on while doing the scene...)

Isn't the ten year old though the reincarnation of her dead husband?

"Birth" reminds me of a scary version of "Chances Are" with Cybil Shepard and Robert Downey Jr. tongue.gif

I saw "The Grudge" last night. By myself at the theater, (the best way to see horror movies). It was creepy. I liked it a lot. I jumped about 20 times and had tingles running up and down my spine.

I don't understand why the mother wasn't taken either. But she was upstairs once. There was a flashback where the realtor was showing the family the house. The mother disappeared and they found her upstairs in that room staring at the ceiling. Her daughter told her, "mom, you know what the doctor said about climbing stairs". Besides, the thing was downstairs all the time anyway! Ick! Actually, the mom was sick and lethargic before she came to the house, right? Maybe that is why she wasn't taken, because she was all wonky half the time and didn't half know what was going on.

That clicking mouth noise creeped me out. Reminded me of the noise the Predator makes except scary. And then jawless Yoko with the nasty tongue. OH! and the thing crawling up from under the covers. Hee! Deliciously creepy.

I saw the previews for "Boogeyman", which looks like a rip-off of those two tooth fairy movies, but "Hide and Seek" with little Dakota Fanning looks good.
