Congrats to Lauren T.! She was selected as a Star Student for the fourth year in a row. She is a student at North High, doing well in all of her honors classes and is one of the nicest people I know.

In a way I feel that I am bragging about my wife and myself...
Our 5 yr old daughter Mari was a Gold Star recipient in the Character Counts Program at Old Forge Elementary School..... not too shabby for a kindergarten student, if I do say so myself..
We are very very proud of her....

Can I at least put a cheesy smiley face every time I do well in school? biggrin.gif

Quick! Someone PM me and ask how I did on my algebra final BEFORE I BUST!

I would like to brag on my son a little. He's a 3rd grader at Old Forge and got straight A's and was elected his class representative for student council. I'm tempted to call Mail call laugh.gif

Congratulations, Old Forge is a wonderful school.... my daughter loves it there and the principal, Mr Festerman, is a wonderfu role model for the kids.... I believe he knows each child there by name... I have seen him greeting them by name and does not seem to miss one of them...
It is so refreshing to see a staff that cares so much for the children and their wellbeing...

I could rave about the school forever. Both my sons love it there and the staff seems wonderful. Mr. Festerman is such a nice guy and every teacher weve dealt with have been very caring and friendly. My wife volunteers in the lunch room and interacts with everyone there and she says they are all wonderful. Both my sons are doing great and I guess thats the main thing to be concerned about. We couldn't have picked a better school

All right, I'll braq on mine a little. She got all A's this grading period, only one B last grading period. All the while she has been involved in show rehearsals, 5 dance classes a week, voice and theater class, church choir, and soccer. Our deal is that if the grades slip, the activities go. But so far she's doing pretty good!

I work thirty hours a week, I have two AP classes, I go to the community college through he Essence Program, I am the Senior Patrol Leader of my Boy Scout troop, and am an Eagle Scout. I am not going to recognized or awarded for anything by anyone, and this will be the only time the public ever hears this during my high school senior year. I wish there was someone who cared...

Well I'm sure your mother is very proud of you. Lets see your a senior in high school and an Eagle scout. Wow, I'm shocked you don't have anyone who cares more about your accomplishments. Try not wearing your scout uniform to school
and I'll bet you might even get a date once in a while. Nothing turns on the high school girls like a 17 year old in a boy scout uniform laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I think that you've accomplished a great amount, and it's amazing that you work 30 hours a week on top of everything else. Becoming an Eagle Scout is a terrific accomplishment in itself! Keep up the good work...people care even though they don't often show it!

Methost, if you're sincere, then you kick ass.

Wow, did anyone read the article on Whytne Brooks? What an impressive girl!! I hope she manages to stick with all that and doesn't burn out.

Ok, so he's not exactly a student, but hats off to Eddie Younger, the young man who helps at the Boys and Girls Club. It is so nice that those kids have such a great male role model, who encourages volunteering and discourages the "what's in it for me?" attitude. Well done!
