Has anyone heard if Berkeley Co. is planning on building another high school? I was curious, since the population has exploded in the last 2 years. Berkeley Co is a huge county and I don't see Hedgesville, Martinsburg, and Mussleman being able to handle the future load. Plus those 3 high schools are located almost in the same central area of the county (maybe not Mussleman), If they where going to build another, I think it should be a little east of Falling Waters.

Even if there are no plans for a new high school in Berkeley County, I bet they could get one built before Jefferson County does (and they ARE planning one).

Hedgesville High already has had to add trailers for classrooms and now right before summer they started adding on to the gym to make it bigger.
They keep building Elementary and Middle schools over here but I havn't heard about a High school yet.
Something better be looked into because just on my road alone there are two different housing developments going in! I know that the one is 250 acres and I'm not real sure about the other one but I do know that it's well over a hundred also>

I remember reading where Martinsburg High is so cramped for space that they are having to use offices, and other rooms that were not meant for classrooms. If they do build a new high school I think it should be built in Martinsburg because that way kids in some parts of Martinsburg will no longer have to go to Hedgesville.

WVU that is true. I couldn't believe how small that high school was when I first walked into it. Thought that this can't be the only high school in Martinsburg, but it is. Martinsburg is way past its prime and its time the school board relizes the need for another high school. I'm sure there is hundreds or thousands of Berkeley Co./ Martinsburg residence that would agree. For all the money they spend every summer on some sort of renovation to Martinsburg High, they could of had half the money for a new school by now!

I don't understand what they need to keep renovating. Back when I was in high school in the early '90's they spent tons of money remodeling the whole place. What really needs to be renovated is the football field.
