I just ran 4.5 miles on the treadmill to an eclectic mix of John Mayer, Metallica, Dr. Dre, and Poison (among others). Thanks for the playlist iPod, my dear friend!

For music, I'm somewhat partial to Steven Curtis Chapman, though I like some of the Gospel groups for a change of pace every now and then.

U2 How to dismantle an atomic bomb. Very good best album since One.
Sman>> With any luck I'll be trading up to an Ipod for Xmas. I currently have a Phillips Rio 256 that works through musicmatch jukebox. What kind of software do you run with the Ipod and is it easy? Thanks for the help

I use iTunes, Apples program that goes with the iPod. It has the iTunes music store interface built into it, so you can easily purchase songs.
Download iTunes from their website and take a look at it for yourself. I love it.

word of caution, windows users NEED Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Windows 98 and earlier will not work.

Good point, Samy.
I'm listening to 80s stuff. I don't remember the name of the song or who sang it, but it goes...
I touch you once.
I touch you twice.
I won't let go at any price.
I need your love like I need you then.
We always said we'd meet again...
some day.

Oh, I remember that song...it was from The Breakfast Club (I love that movie!) I can't remember who did it either...one of those wierd eighties groups

The Breakfast Club kicks ass!
Andrew Clark: If I lose my temper you're totaled, man.
John Bender: Totally?
Andrew Clark: Totally.
Oh oh Naomi! If you had to pick, which one best described you in high school? I'd have to say Allison for me.

Was Allison the one played by Phoebe Cates? It's been so long since I've seen it, I need to get it on dvd!
If I had to pick one of the girls, I was closer to the Phoebe Cates character, except not that messed up! I was a freak and hung out with the guys like John Bender. Ooooh I totally would've fallen for Bender!
It's a timeless classic, even my 17 year old loves it!

Phoebe Cates? For shame! You don't know your brat pack very well, Noami! 10 lashes. It was Ally Sheedy.

Has anybody on these boards ever listened to 'Lloyd Dobler Affect' or the 'Pat McGee band'? I've never listened to them before, but I've heard of them. I'll will be seeing them live at a concert and wondered if they're any good.

OH YEAH!!!

New Year's Eve! I really really like Carbon Leaf a lot, so I'm super excited to see them, but I don't know anything about the other two bands.
SMan

I've heard both bands mentioned on DC101 a good bit, but have never heard their music. I fired up iTunes and checked the online store, where they give you 30 second clips from everything they sell.
Nothing on the Lloyd Dobler Effect, but they had 3 Pat Mcgee Band albums available. I listened to snippets from the first few "most downloaded" songs and didn't hear anything I recognized. They seemed very light and pop-ish for DC101 to be promoting them. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just the best description I could come up with.

Carbon Leaf plays at my college every year all the time (they're alums).
I saw Pat McGee last spring at Friday Night Cheers on Brown's Island in Richmond. It's a little slow for me (think Dave Matthews), but I have a few friends that are obsessed with P Mc G

Good to know - thanks Biggins!

I'm a Dave Matthews fan, so that sounds good to me.
