Since the inception of slots at Charles Town, I've noticed the town has become a place to "BE" on a Friday or Saturday night. Has the slots improved Charles Town or do the majority of you all think it has adversely affected the town? I for one would really never go to Charles Town if it didnt have the Slots and Track so I look at it as a plus. I've also noticed some eateriess in the area have become alot busier since the Slots opened. So what do all think ? Is it good or bad ?

Ain't never been to the slots.Really never went to C.T. that much to begin with but just by what I'm seeing in the paper and 25 seems they can't keep up with the growth and theres always an ad for workers .Must not be a good place to work if they can't keep workers.?

My Grandfather loved going to the slots before he died, and I went with him a few times. They've really cleaned up, and it's a really nice place. The restaurant there is one of the best in Jefferson County! I do, however, think that it has had a bad effect on Charles Town because I think gambling brings the shady people to the area as well. I do love going to the horse races though.

I've been there a few times. I've never "hit it big". But of course I don't take a whole lot of money with me, just to lose it all either. It is a nice place if you ever get a chance to check it out. When I'm inside, it doesn't seem like I'm in Charles Town, WV. I just wish they would get finished with all the construction they are doing. I keep hearing about a new hotel, but I guess those plans are further down the road. And if you go on weekends (especially at night) its hard to find a machine to play on because the place is packed. But I saw an ad in the paper that says they are opening yet another new section and a food court in July.
