Does anybody have any vacations booked for Spring? Suggestions? We're thinking of going to New Orleans, Los Angeles, or NYC to visit the in laws.

The whole family is going to La Paz, Mexico for a week at the end of this month.
Fortunately, there will be no in-laws involved.
Just kidding.

Took a little jaunt to Cancun last month as a gift from the in-laws. It was a little cool, but a great time. Man, all-inclusive will spoil you really quick. And, they make a mean Long Island Iced tea!

If I had stayed very long I'da gained 30 pounds and ruined my liver. But, from here on out, my vacations this year will likely be a 1 or 2 day short jaunt or two.

5 days in FL over Easter to hit Amelia Island, Jacksonville, and St. Augustine. Hoping to get tix to the The Players Championship. But $55 a piece could be spent kayaking instead of watching boys hit little balls then chase them down to do it again. Will probably go to the greyhound track, some hiking, historical sites, the zoo, etc. They also have a Bud brewery tour!! And a chocolate factory tour!! Everything a girl needs, LOL!

No vacations planned, but I already have a spring house projects list going. I'm hoping to start checking stuff off that list within the next few weeks.

I can beat that.
Spending it within the great
Hagerstown city limits.

Ocean City is all I can afford.
I'll also be taking trips to car races/events in the area and hopefully drive my car on a race track.

I think Yoss has been sniffing the stuff in the evidence room again -- and sharing with B!

If you are heading to an event that would allow you some track time in your personal vehicle, can you post a link to the event (assuming they have a link)?
Before I get tired of my current sporty vehicle and trade it for something more practical, I'd like to drive it like it's meant to be driven.....without fear of arrest.

There's a great Italian restaurant on Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach by the old rail depot, you should really check it out. Are you staying at the plantation? If you are the restaurant in the hotel has an awesome Sunday brunch.

I'm starting my own daylily farm (I have almost 600 different varieties now), and in June, I'm going to one of the big hybridizer's farm in NC to spend a couple of days "learning the ropes". I've gotten as far as I have with my farm by trying things and continuing the stuff that works. It will be fun to learn some of the tricks from somebody who makes their living doing it.
I need to get to Tampa to visit my brother. But since I now have a 10" cut in my belly with staples in it, don't know when that will happen. April is a bad time to go to Tampa because of the Love Bugs, and after that, it's too hot. And of course, I'd LOVE to take a long weekend in Buxton, NC this summer!
Have any of y'all been to the Farmers Market they hold on Wednesday mornings in Belleville? We like to do that once or twice during the summer; problem is I usually come home with a bushel of produce I need to put up by the end of the day. So, that's really a working vacation, too.
Otherwise, I'm like the dragonlady - gardens to plant, daylilies to cross; I don't have time for more than a day or two here or there.

Try an HPDE (high Performance Driving Event) at Summit Point or VIR. NASA (National Auto Sports Association) sponsors those, I think. Never done one yet myself, but they sound like a blast!
I think the next one is this one, Feb 18-20 at VIR...

Repaired the same hernia AGAIN. This is the 2nd repair to the original hernia. Getting tired of the routine, but although my body may think it's a delicate southern belle, my temperament is quite the opposite. Thing is, I've been good and haven't done any heavy lifting (had hubby do it), but it still tore. Oh, well - I told the Doctor to use Super Glue this time!
