I have heard that half of the "SLATE" of Republicans running for office in the Hagerstown elections this year were registered Democrats in the Nov. Presidential election. Are they going to change back to Democrats if elected? We should definitely keep an eye on this.

I'm not a City of Hagerstown citizen, but this "slate" seems kinds shady to me. Doesn't seem to be too much openness about them. If I recall correctly, their first "public" meeting was a closed meeting at a fancy-schmancy restaurant.
Hey slate, come out and play at the HM Forums!

My union (gasp) has interviewed the slate and most other city council/mayor candidates. They came away with the impression that some members of the slate were bascially coat-tailing other members ideas and had few of their own.

Please be aware as well that the "slate" of council members had a hearign before the Elections Baord on monday requesting that the ballots be redone to include a republican primary even though it is not warranted because there are not enough republican candidates to require one. The Election board turned them down due to costs and other reasons, but the group said they would cover the costs. I guess you can when your campign is being funded by two developers from outside the City trying to buy an elected body of puppets.

Hey Kid2,
It's HEARING. Just kidding.
You know I heard from some of the union guys that Dick Trump had exactly the same answers on his survey as Callahan. Interesting.
Do you think that there is truly only one mind?
Seems that way.
I can see it now. One puppet, six heads.

Hi
We need to do more than keep an eye on these guys. We need to send them and their little politcal action committee packing. Hagerstown has enough problems right now with people in the city not being represented. If the "slate" who have had their campaign war chest built by a couple of sources get in we are through having any representation in city government.
I got into this election because I truly wanted to represent everyone. I have accepted $0 from anyone. I did this because if elected the only debt I wanted to owe was to the residents of Hagerstown. I would like to see other candidates do the same.
A challenge to all of the candidates running:
If you really arent just paying lip service to people about representing everyone then give back your campaign donations and fund your campaign from your own pocket. I issue that challenge to every candidate. Put up or shut up give back the money you have gotten from businesses and groups and lets see if you can win on the issues.
Sincerely
Tony Campello
