I took my daughter to an Easter egg hunt at the City Park today. The Herald Mail advertised it as a free public event for kids 10 and under. It
turns out that TriState Fellowship church was actually sponsoring it and
before the actual hunt, we had to sit through what would have been a sermon
had we been in church. The program began with several high school students
play acting to a song. One of the students was holding a sign that read
"Abortion Clinic". My daughter is 7 and in the second grade, but she reads
on a 6th grade level. So she reads the sign and turns to me and asks what it
means and why are they acting this way to the song. I told her that it was a
type of doctor's office, but I was so offended that I took her away from
the program until the egg hunt started. Children grow up fast enough, can't we shelter them just a little longer from the prolife/prochoice debate?
I don't care what your religion is or what your beliefs are toward abortion,
but that was totally inappropriate for the age group that was attending the
function.
