I guess he just thought he was being funny (and in a way it was), but I kind of think Nixon deserves being suspended a few extra games for knocking over the running sausage mascot in Milwaukee. I'm sure mascots are aware, when they sign up for the job, that they're going to be ridiculed and function as everyone's favorite scapegoat. And while it may be all fun and games to laugh, point and boo them, it's a different story when a ballplayer acts physically toward one. They should remember that there are real people inside those goofy costumes with the potential to be seriously hurt, and that those people are only doing their job, as silly (?) as it may be.
