Is anybody else sick of hearing about this case? I'm sorry the girl disappeared, but it was her own damn fault, she shouldn't be so foolish in a foreign territory. What are y'alls opinions?

I don't watch the news on a daily basis so I haven't heard a lot about it. I did happen to catch an interview with her mother shortly after this story became public. I have my suspicions that this young lady didn't have the greatest relationship with her parents. When her mother was being interviewed, the newscaster asked her if by chance her daughter may have run away from home. Her mother was extremely irritated by the question and seemed to be avoiding giving a direct answer. I'm thinking she took this trip to Aruba as a way out, a chance to get a taste of freedom.

The first couple days were interesting, now it's just annoying. Why must the news take a semi-unique (because of the locale) story and run it into the ground?

I thought I was free of the "runaway bride", but I was flipping channels and saw her being interviewed last night by Katie Couric. Where's the barf smilie when you need one...

I agree the story is being over-covered. But, IMO, you/we can't be sure it "was her own damn fault". You are not psychic. She could have been slipped a "date-rape drug", taken under threat , or taken under false pretenses (your friend is in the hospital --let me take you there kinda thing), etc. And as a kid I know I did some dangerous, stupid crap. Did you? Maybe she did, too, but it still should not result in this.

As for the "runaway bride" does anyone else think she looks like a clean-shaven B.J. Surhoff with a wig?

Our opinion is that the girl was taken and sold as a sex slave. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a case of human trafficking. She was probably off the island before anyone even realized she was gone. Probably half way around the world starring in porn flicks by now.

How many kids these days go to Aruba, Cancun, and the Virgin Islands for Spring or Summer Break? It's pretty scary that these things happen, and I'd be worried sick if it were my daughter. As for my family, we don't have that kind of money...my kids go as far as O.C.!

I've been where her mom is now.Not a good place to be.doesn't matter if they were fighting or not.

Very scary indeed! I think that's why they won't let this one go. We parents need some kind of closure on this because it's just too frightening. I think everyone has also been surprised that they haven't figured it out yet. They can't drag it out much longer, but a lot of people are somehwat emotionally invested.

This could've have easily happened anywhere in the US though. I don't think she was sold as a sex slave I think that she was so drunk she decided to go for a swim in the ocean, and then drowned.

Sounds VERY plausible. Very sad, and despicable, if true.

They're letting one guy go (the DJ) and they say they took the Judge into custody to put pressure on his son to talk. Kid Rock has raised $25,000 to aid in the search. The search team from Texas said they would remain until they find her. Only problem, is if they dumped her in the ocean, she's long gone.

We've dove around Aruba and the currents would have take her body out to sea; not to mention the sharks.

I am sooooo tired of this story...she is not the first youth to be lost there or will be the last--in Mexico this happens all the time and it does not dominate the news--heck, you never hear about it unless you live in Texas! I know, I lived in south Texas and every year after the spring break insanity some kiddoes would not show up at home--and woe is me, I let my kid go to a foriegn country unsupervised where they could commit sins w/o recriminations...ie--drinking is illegal here until 21, but you can drink in these other places--so of course that is the attraction to go...

They will not find this young lady--she is gone---sorry...I feel bad for this family, but they are not the only persons to ever lose a child through their own stupidity.

With what I've seen from the mainstream media in the last few years I'd have to say that there isn't a more reliable source than the tabloids.

Did you read that Dick Cheney is pregnant with an alien's baby? I think it's Ann Coulter's. That wig isn't fooling anybody.
