It wasn't a case of changing a word or two in my quote. It was entirely deleting the quote and replacing with something totally inappropriate for a family forum.

No more Mr Nice Guy.

What you've done lately is Mr. Nice Guy? What, you're normally an axe murderer? You get no breaks because you so often abuse people. Your brand of fun -- insulting people for no good reason, threats, etc. -- no one here likes. Get it? No one I know. ( Someone post otherwise if I'm wrong.)

So if you wanna get mean relative to what you have been recently, good, then it should be only a short time until you screw-up so badly that we can get universal agreement and delete you from the forum. As in kick you out.

If you wanna play, play decent -- don't even gotta be nice -- just be decent for a change and stop trying to incite riots and insult people whom you've never even met just for the sake of meanness. It's old, man, it's old.

He can do whatever he wants. Just do it in a respectful manor. That isn't asking very much. Everyone else on this board does it and I haven't seen anyone attack him until they were attacked first. Then he whines about no one wanting to hear a differing opinion. That is total bs people have these discusions to get varing opinions. Not to be ridiculed for who they are.

It's very simple. Try to follow along, now.

There are 46 people who have posted more than 100 posts ever on this site. I think no matter how you figure it, you'll all agree that it's fair to say there are fewer than 46 "regulars" on these forums. In fact, there are far fewer who post anywhere near as often as I do, but let's be extremely biased towards the low end so you can't possibly argue with my claim.

At least one of them, me, holds my exact opinion on every single issue I comment on. Therefore at least 1/46 = 2.2% of the regulars here hold my exact opinion. I admittedly assumed that the regulars here are a fair representation of America at large, which might not be exactly correct, but I'll bet it's not far off when it comes to most issues. If anything, I think the regulars here have a bit of a slant towards the liberal side compared to all Americans, demographically speaking.

The current U.S. population is approximately 297 million. 2.2% of 297 million people comes to a figure of at least 6.5 million Americans for whom I therefore can and do claim to speak.

... and by the way, whenever another of our regulars agrees with me, you can add another 6.5 million Americans to that figure. smile.gif

QUOTE
Tattoo Facts:
Emerging from their often unsavoury reputation of the recent past, tattoos have gained increasing prominence in the past decade. Life magazine estimated in 1936 that 10 million Americans, or approximately 6% of the population had at least one tattoo. The most recent Harris Poll, done in 2003, nearly triples those numbers and estimates that 16% of Americans now have one or more tattoos. For a complete breakdown of the numbers, see Harris Poll Below:

The National Geographic News stated in April 2000 that 15% of Americans were tattooed (or approximately 40 million people!)
Esquire Magazine estimated in March 2002 that 1 in 8 Americans was tattooed
Harris Poll, 2003, estimates that fully 36% of those aged 25-29 have one or more tattoos

Make no mistake about it, the tattoo industry is hot property. There are an estimated 15,000 parlors operating in the United States, according to a recent U.S. News & World Report article (November 1996), which said, on the average, an establishment is being added in the country every day. The article ranked tattooing as the sixth fastest growing retail venture of the 1990s, right behind Internet, paging services, bagels, computer and cellular phone service

Who's the intolerant jerk?

You're not usually one of them, I'll admit. But you're not totally innocent either. You're more of a follower than a leader, at least - I'll give you that.

But what on earth did you expect me to say when you pointed out your son has both ears pierced and tattoos? "Oh, since Naomi's kid's got them, there must not really be anything wrong with it"? THINK for a moment: I don't know you or your son from Adam, so that wasn't very likely now, was it?

From my perspective it's at least as likely that he's a gay dirtbag as it is that my opinions - and those of many others whom I know share them - are wrong. That's just simple logic.
BMIC
QUOTE (tattoomeb @ Aug 10 2005, 03:28 PM)

Then you, being a typical flaming liberal, ought to be sticking up for my rights, not those who would trample them!

By the way, just because an opinion isn't popular doesn't make it wrong. The truth is not subject to majority vote. While 78% of Americans claim to be Christians, when you really get down to it, I would bet that it's more like 50-50 as to who really believes in the Christ of the Bible and has actually accepted salvation and entered into a personal relationship with God. But just because theirs might therefore be a minority opinion, that doesn't mean I am about to give up my beliefs nor bow to your rejction of them.
