In fact, I KNEW you were very young (the stupidity of your opinions told me that long ago) and your reply had been one of the few which I therfore DID appreciate.

Thanks for answering. You haven't been a teenager for more than a decade, but I guess you MIGHT still be in touch with the current standards...
Again, I asked because I wanted to know, not because I was convinced I already did know. Unfortunately few people replied, and they weren't all young enough to really know what the deal is. Naomi's opinion wasn't even worth considering, because she's just some kids mom. Kids invariably tell their parents whatever they have to to keep the peace.

I point out to the Mods that the discussion here has never strayed from the topics under discussion. Others started talking about piercings before I asked a very simple question, and we never completely left the topic of tattoos. WVD simply doesn't like my opinion and wants to have it erased = censorship. You have the ability to censor my speech, yes. But I don't think you want to go there...
If others would stop attacking everything I post, I would have nothing more to say myself. The problem is, people cannot just let me have my opinion and express it without having to jump all over it and me personally. I reserve the right to defend myself and my opinions.

WVD,
We're not ignoring you. But I don't think it is practical to constantly monitor a very busy thread like this and move every post that is even slightly off-topic. It'd take FT mods all day to do that on all the threads here.
While not every post here is directly related to tattoos, most of them are related to the meanings of tattoos, piercings, etc. and associated bigotry about people with tattoos, piercings, etc. I see a connection there. If the topic suddently went from a tattoo of a fish to fishing for several posts I can see a new thread created by separating those posts. Otherwise, please exercise your right to ignore whatever you feel is off-topic.

I am not sure if they are the same or affiliated.
I have a friend who got a tatt there a while back it was ok not the best job. As far as tatt shops in Frederick go that one definetly has the most "trashy" stigma to it. It generaly does not come recommended. There are much better shops in Frederick. I would recommend either Marks of the Spark, Time Bomb or Classic Elec. all in downtown. I have never been inked at TB or CE but the work I have seen from them is better and I have heard better things about them in general than Snakemans.
If you want my opinion of the best around it is the shop I go to. I am admittedly a little biased. But seriously as far as artistic talent goes Bullett is the best around. He tattooed Elliot of DC101 and Elliot talks about him from time to time if anyone listens to that station. I posted the link earlier in the thread but I will again check it out. He is in Mt. Airy which is down 70 from Frederick so it is a drive but well worth it. He has 2 other guys working with him that are also good but he is tops.
He books about a month or so out. Very good with custom pieces taylored to you for a one of a kind piece. I have a thing against flash.

I was not told "how it is" by a sufficient number of those who would even really know in the first place in order for me to be convinced. I'm still not sure that I have. I appreciate your and McGrupp's replies, as folks who may be young enough to know for certain, but we all got sidetracked by older folks who aren't in a position to know the facts.
I STILL haven't made up my mind either way, though I am inclined to believe you've got it right that standards have indeed changed. The bit between Naomi and I was just me giving her some well-deserved criticism for thinking I would take her pierced son's word for it.
As I basically said before, I want to hear from some teens or early 20-somethings what the real deal is. Not their parents. Not having heard from many young folks, my mind is still not really decided either way on the piercing question, no matter what you might say.

I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with that church. Among other things, I've recently learned that some of their pastors may not meet biblical qualifications for the position. I have other issues with the place, but this one would require me to revoke my membership.
P.S. - Do you keep a little dossier on all of the regulars here, Yoss, just so you can keep track of as much personal info on us as possible to use against us whenever you choose? It seems your interest in me and the amount of effort you've put into investigating me and my affiliations goes way beyond the norm for normal internet discussion boards. Actually I am pretty sure he does. I made reference to my church a long time ago, and in fact one of the regulars did remember it because she used to attend. But Yoss had no legitimate interest since he's an avowed anti-church person, except that he's stalking me.
He has basically admitted searching for info about me and my affiliations in the County Council thread on the Wash Co News forum. He says it's all publicly-available info so it's okay for him to go investigating each of us. I think it's creepy stalking-type of behavior. It wouldn't surprise me if he had sneaked by my church sometime during a youth group meeting just to check out the crowd and see if he could pick me and my children out. *shiver* He certainly is saying that he knows what kind of body art the kids who go there are displaying.
I can just imagine this guy hunched over his computer filling out a dossier on every one of us regulars.... and I'm not so sure this is a safe place for any of us anymore.

One thing I've learned in my life is that no matter what your discussing, or how potentially heated it may become, all of that can be changed in how you approach someone.
