This is a serious problem, which needs serious answers. This could be God's modern plague.

I don't know about a total cure, but the new approach sounds very promising and should at least go a long way towards improving life expectancy of those infected with HIV. Interesting!

It's an interesting discovery of a possible use for valproic acid but I think the doctor from Johns Hopkins is being the most realistic about how it may help HIV patients.

The article is a little misleading when it states "The latest drug, valproic acid, shows more promise..." Not that it doesn't show promise, it's just not a new drug. Valproic acid (commonly called depakene) has been around for at least 30 years and has been primarily used to treat epileptic, and other kinds of siezures.

It's some pretty powerful stuff.
