Story ripped from CNN.

ROCKVILLE, Maryland (AP) -- A judge allowed corrections officials to forcibly feed convicted sniper John Allen Muhammad while he awaits trial in the county for six October 2002 killings.

Muhammad had not eaten anything since being transferred to the Montgomery County, Maryland, jail on Monday, corrections officials said in court documents filed Thursday.

He was apparently upset with the food he was being served and the handling of his legal material.

Doctors had concluded that Muhammad, 44, was at risk of serious injury or death of he continued his hunger strike, corrections officials said.

Judge James L. Ryan issued an order allowing officials at the county jail to forcibly feed and hydrate him.

Muhammad and Lee Malvo, 20, are accused of killing 10 people and wounding three in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., during an October 2002 shooting rampage.

Muhammad has already been sentenced to die following a 2003 conviction for a sniper shooting in Manassas, Virginia.

Malvo was sentenced to life in prison for a shooting in Falls Church, Virginia.

Montgomery County prosecutors plan to try the two men together for the shootings in their county, as insurance in case their Virginia convictions are overturned.

They will be returned to Virginia when their trial is over.

The two have also been linked to shootings in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Washington state.

What's the problem here? Go ahead. Starve yourself.

Yeah -- let him torture himself! What a great deal! He deserves it!

Let em starve, if that's what he wants! Save all involved governments lots of money and headaches. He is already sentenced to death in VA, why keep dragging it out and spend more taxpayer dollars on someone that Marylanders really just want to forget about along with the insane fear he put in the public during those months. mad.gif dry.gif

Heather,

He may have been sentenced to death but will he be PUT to death? They should've hung him long time ago IMO.Let him starve.

I can understand the families wanting their days in court tho. been there, done that.
It was a different thing being in court for the murder than the drugs.

In my signature. biggrin.gif

Make some pancakes and put bloody corpse chunks on them. Make it look like strawberries and syrup, except it'll be blood and corpse nuggets. Serve with a side of rabbit.

Ta da!

Nah, that's gross. It's inspired by the movie The Devil's Rejects. Just something wicked that popped outta my brain one day.

"There must be 100 yards of bloody asphalt and corpse chunks."

"Run rabbit, run!"

rolleyes.gif oh big deal so he hadn't eaten for 4 days! That's hardly going to 'cause serious injury or death! If he wants to torture himself by not eating then why stop him? He deserves to die a long suffering death! dry.gif

My brother (the homocide detective) just finished up his bachelor's degree in criminal science, and the subject of one of his term papers was whether it was cheaper to let a criminal rot in prison for the rest of his life, or be given the death penalty. His research found that it is cheaper to let the criminal rot in prison for the rest of his life because the (mandatory) appeals process is so expensive.

I'll bet he never researched this 3rd option, though!

I'd volunteer to help wire Muhammad's jaw shut!

He has rights so he doesn't want to eat so he has the right to starve to death!! I think it's crazy that they are trying him in Montgomery County, especially after being sentenced to death in Virgina. I think it takes wayyyy too long for someone to be put to death, especially when there is no doubt they are guilty.
