I have contacted MTA, and they have a bus that travels
from Hagerstown to Frederick.
They do not stop right in town at the Marc train station
but they do stop at the Urbana Marc train station.
To make changes they need to know if enough people
would use their service.
I am hoping that this could work.
I am trying to call them, but having difficulty reaching the
right people. It's like a MAZE....
but if there are enough interested, maybe someone who
obviously knows more than I do, can expidite the plan,
if anyone is interested.....
just another thought on the rising cost of gas, and do
I go to work or call in sick?.... biggrin.gif

Good thinking Paris. I have been trying to find some car poolers to Rockville.
Only thing is my hours are 7-3:30 and everyone else seems to be there until 5

Don't forget telecommuting or flex time, if your company/work is open to that...

I've been telecommuting for 4 years out of my house. As of yet, still haven't actually stepped foot in corporate office.

I can't imagine the $$$ I've saved on gas, clothing, lunches, etc.

My car is almost 10 years old (paid off, of course) and still runs... probably would have crapped out on me long ago if I had been driving back and forth to an office every day.

What great hours.
if you look at the schedule, you might be able to use
the bus from MVA to the Train station,
I have a hard time reading it...looks like
Latin to me...
but it might work for you since you go all the way
to Rockville.

With a job that involves customer service, I can't work from home,
but if my job would be open to 4 days, 10 hours, with other staff rotating
so we always had coverage, this is a thought. Only thing, it's hard to
change the goverment.......

ohhh the MTA bus. what memories... you see people doing the strangest things while riding back from Shady Grove Metro on the bus... lol

the absolute worst memory was when i was people watching while we were stuck in a serious backup on Thanksgiving eve... the next thing you know, i looked down from my high viewpoint into the car below, and there was grandpa... 'handling' his apparatus while driving. i wanted to vomit. blink.gif isn't there a law against that?

I prefer car hot tubs. They don't use as much water or weigh as much, so you get better gas mileage.
