How many here care for the idea? I think that it is a slap in the face for the teams that have worked hard and might lose the championship because of a few bad races towards the end of the year.

IMO The Nextel Cup points race is a bad deal all around for the drivers.
They race all year for just 10 spots. Last year using the old points system the winner would have been a driver that wasn`t even in the chase.
Letting a team mate lead a lap just for his 5 points is not racing. They need togo back to the old points format. Race to the end.
