Idiot's been gone for a couple weeks now so I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas where he went.

Maybe he was in the reserves and got called up that might explain why no internet connection.

I don't know. My guess is that he was getting so worked up by some of the politics that were being discussed, that he decided to step away for a bit. I base this theory on several apologies he issued in his waning days for going a little overboard in some threads. I'm probably completely wrong.

Really though, it could be anything. I guess we won't know unless he comes back.

No, you're not far off at all. I sent him an e-mail when he posted his "goodbye" thread. He said that he needs a break and that he'd most likely be back. I hope it's sooner rather than later.

I'm taking a few days break from both my real job and from a book I've been working on. I do miss this place though. After 5 weekends of writing on one subject I need a little variety. Hopefully I can adjust my routine in order to do both.

I'm flattered you remembered. I decided that I had done enough research and that it was time to start putting words on paper since I'm semi-retired already anyway.

I must say the research and the plot/character development come to me more naturally than the actual mechanics of writing. It requires a certain discipline but I'm getting better at it.
