I feel the paper misrepresented 911 abuse. What CRS has is EMS abuse. 911 abuse goes much deeper. People continually call and ask for time and directory assistance and other non emergent matters or parents who let their kids play with the phone and the dispatchers spend hours feilding these calls when inportant calls such as chest pain and house fires are being reported.

Actually, Community Rescue Service - The local ambulance in Washington Co.

EMS - Emergency Medical Service

911 - Nine One One (the number you dial on the phone when you have an emergency) tongue.gif

Yes, just kidding, FIB.

I read the post and didn't know what the acronyms stood for so I went to acronym.com and looked them up. Since I was already there I decided to post the link for anyone else who didn't know what they stood for. To label the link, I just threw that in there for fun.

I hate to see EMS/fire/police resources wasted and abused. But the guy wasn't helping his cause as much as he could. Why not name the nursing home that was abusing their services? If it is true and they have been asked to stop and won't, why not name them and see if community pressure would help?

Some kind of penalty must be paid or else some people will keep abusing the system. No use to wait until it costs a life to act.

I've dated a firefighter and a paramedic so all the medical acronyms are like second nature to me tongue.gif
