Hello:
So glad I found this board. I live in Washington County and need some help for a small scale landscaping problem.
Here's the situation:
The landscaping stones have disappeared into the earth. I need one or two trucks of stones to replace them.
There are several forsythias that think that they have taken over the place. I tried to cut them back manually, but they started to hit me back. They are out of control and I need a chain saw massacre to put them back under control.
I am not rich, but I certainly can afford to pay a reasonable rate. This also has to include taking the remains to the county dump.
I just cannot haul enough bags of landscape stones myself to make a difference.
Can I leave my telephone number? Doesn't matter, because I have an answering machine to screen the telemarketers. It is 301-584-3493. Chain saws are welcome to respond.

Beverly, your best bet is to look in the yellow pages for a landscaper. I know there are a ton of "Good" and fair priced landscapers in the West Virginia area. Try there first then if ya have to, get a local Wash.Co team to do it, but i'm willing to bet it will be a bit more costly.
Hey if worst comes to worst, you got kids? Give them a rake and some mulch and tell them to have at it.

What do you mean by "landscape stones"?Little ones that are used for mulch?Or big ones used as a rind around a flower bed?
Forsythias can make a great hedge if they're close enough together.I know of one near some railroad tracks that look beautiful in the Spring! They must be about 8ft. tall.A neighbor down thw road has started a hedge of them in front of their house to block the road and the noise.
You might want to call the "Phone Party".It's a local call in show on AM radio 1240. 1-800-265-0057.You could call in and ask if anyone could give you some help or if someone does yard work for a reasonable price.
Good Luck

Thanks for your replies.
No, unfortunately, no children to put to work. On the other hand, I can hire a lot of landscapers for the cost of university tuition.
Yes, I need some of the smallish landscaping stones to cover some areas. Since I have had some injuries, I just can't handle those big bags.
I think I might stop by at some places like Snavely's and ask them for a name. Snavely's is lovely. I was trying to avoid the commercial landscapers who send some guys over to buzz through, thank you ma'am, and depart. I think you understand what I mean.
Anyway, thanks for the responses.
