Any local resturants you are willing to recommend to the rest of us?--NO OWNERS PLEASE.

I've heard the new Panera Bread is good.

Tried and loved China City in Martinsburg.

Depends on the type of food you want, the price range, the atmosphere and what you consider to be "local."

For Japanese, I like Sakura in Hagerstown. Entrees are about $12 or so. Good service and fresh food.

For Italian, I like Al Pomodoro in Hagerstown. Entrees are about $15-$18 or so. More upscale of a place with a bar and sometimes piano music. Wine fairly pricey.

For Chinese, I prefer Hong Kong in Hagerstown. IMHO, the best chinese food in town. Decent atmosphere, not a "fast food" type chinese place.

For sandwiches, I like Cafe Del Sol in Greencastle. Casual atmosphere. BYOB. Sandwiches about $7.

For Mexican, I like El Paso in Hagerstown on the Dual Highway. Entrees about $8-$10. Fast service.

For all around good food, I prefer Stone Soup in Shepherdstown. "Fancier" type food than you'll find in most places. Entrees $15-$28. Lots of local, organic stuff on their menu. Good wine bar.

Those are my regular haunts.

It's pretty good for a chain. But beware going there during busy times--like Saturday lunch. It's so crowded. DH gets stressed just being in there, and he's not the type to get stressed. People jostle you, it's hard to relax, and you feel like you gotta wrestle someone to get a table.

It has been a few years but I really liked the Yellow Brick Bank in Shepherdstown.

Anyone been to Il Castillos in State Line... fantastic food at very reasonable prices...
The Shrimp Tivoli is probably the best item on the menu followed by the Chicken Fra Diavalo...
I am no small person and I have trouble eating all they give you... a big salad, home made bread and a very large main course... and I believe the price is just under $10.00

Better late than never...

The DW and I like "La Mezza Luna" on Route 340 outside of C'Town. Good Italian food and decent wine selection. smile.gif

Nick's is consistently the best if you like a good Filet Mignon.
