I'm soooo glad my Blue Jays finally have money to spend to get some free agents to knock out the Yankees and Red Sox this year. It's about time my team starts to rebound from the strike in 1994. As nervous as I was when RSN bought the Blue Jays before last season, I'm pretty happy with the moves they've made.

I can see offering the young AJ Burnett a big contract, but I cannot believe they paid $47 million for BJ Ryan who I still believe is a mediocre pitcher. I'm praying my team can up their batting average and hit a few more HRs.

Here we come!!!

100+MIL for Burnett and Ryan??? just my opinion but unless someone gives Sammy Sosa more than
5 MIL a year these will be the 2 worst signings this year

Yeah, my thoughts, too. I think it shows they have to throw ridiculous money at mediocre players for them to even consider playing for the Jays.

They now have ridiculous amounts of money, and I'm very happy they're spending it.

I still think it's good to encourage their current players who are decent that the Blue Jays ARE making an effort to be competitive. If they dump Vernon Wells, I'll be pretty angry.

Well they picked up Overbay from the Brew last night. This signing I actually like. there may be hope for you yet Biggins biggrin.gif

I think this will help out too. I really liked the pitcher they traded, David Bush. He lost a lot of games, but he pitched really well with no run support. My only worry is that they have WAY too many infielders now.

Last year, Corey Koskie, Shea Hillenbrand, Aaron Hill, and Eric Hinske alternated between 3B, 1B and DH. I like all of them, but I don't see where they're going to fit in the lineup with the addition of Overbay.

Peter Gammons has your back, Biggins. I heard him pimpin' the Jays on Sportscenter tonight.
