This was in todays paper. It has become such a cluster**ck that I dread just going to the Farmers Market and its only maybe a block from I81.
In the artical it says that they're "cracking down" on the developers who build hundreds of homes and then leave. rolleyes.gif Yeah.Right. How?When did this start?
I think that if they truley want these developers to help pay for the widing of the roads they should pass an ordinance that says that a developer HAS to give the county enough money to actually fix and widen any road that they build on and not just some promisory note.I mean cash up front before you even get the permit buddy. Cough it up. ALL of it too,not just a portion. .It's getting way out of hand over here.Driving in berkeley and jefferson counties is at times scary. People from the cities drive on our country roads like they're still driving on the beltway. They have no common courtesy. it is truely frustrating. What I don't understand is the state saying that they can't "find" any funding to help fix the problems here. They want the revenues from all the building and people but they don't want to help us.That makes no sense to me.

This should have been addressed and resolved before the building boom came to Berkeley County...

The head of the Berkeley County Commision has been too busy chasing prostitutes to care what goes on anymore.

why can't Berkeley County learn from VA counties like Loudoun. The force builders to build the necessary infrastructure to support their new additions to the community. The problem is that the intersection of 51 and 11 is land locked. It's going to take buying businesses out and tearing down buildings to fix the problems in Inwood.

And thanks to the Journal for printing the "secret detour" from Inwood to Gerrardstown...

I think alot of these people (especially commuters, and no I don't mean all of them) are so frustrated from the heavy traffic and backups in the city that by the time they get back into our area for the ride home, they tend to take out their frustration with a lead foot.

If you really want to see some lunatics, you should see the traffic coming into Charles Town on the weekends (mostly out of state plates heading to the slots). I absolutely despise going into Charles Town for anything on the weekends!
