To anyone having a beef with how moderation is dealt with on this web site, consider for a moment, the idea of pleasing everyone all the time. Not possible, unfortunately.
Yoss and I are only human. We make mistakes also. Consider that. As much as we'd like to think we're right all the time,(

), we realize this is not possible and take all forms of criticism seriously.
On the subject of fairness, I have, (as I'm sure past and present mods have also), been very concerned with fairness. We are called upon to step on the toes of members we may call friends in the name of fairness. I've been asked before how I can easily side with certain members when everyone knows them to be notorious and even rude. The reason simply is because I find them to be correct and fair in the specific issue at hand.
Our brand of moderation is very flexible and forgiving. This is for the benefit of ALL of us. I think the majority of the regular users of this web site prefer it this way. How many of us would rather have a strict policy? Few, I bet.
We try to interfere as little as possible. Yoss and I enjoy the website as regular posting members. I can't speak for Yoss, but I see moderation as a sidenote to my participation here. This site usually requires very little moderation. Why can't we keep it that way?
I know of a couple of forums that hold much more strict court. They openly denounce democracy. Moderators have final say on everything and are not required to explain themselves...at all.
All that having been said people, realize that it's alright to disagree with each other. If I disagree with you, you don't have to hate me and list me as your mortal enemy for life. Do you agree with everything your best buds say all the time?
We are all passionate about our views. We get upset and emotional. If you find your hackles raised, take time out of this place. Several members like to take siestas now and then. We get on each other's nerves and force ourselves to not come here for a bit.
We can disagree and get along, people. I insist!
On the other hand, members can accept some responsibility here as well. Those of you that must have the last word. Those of you that pull the "he started it first" argument. Those of you that bait each other and the ones that gladly take the bait.
There is an ignore feature readily available for your use. PM me if you don't understand how to use it.
We can disagree and still get along, people. I insist!
