I got the mothership (big one) Foodsaver, too. It seems big enough to bag dogs and small children.

I didn't get the canister, but was eyeing it up in the literature that came with mine.
I have a couple other family things going on this week, but by the weekend, I plan to have every piece of meat in my freezer bagged and sucked.

I'm taking issue with these things. C'mon! Nothing else to occupy the kids? No harassing banter? No classic war zone in the back seat? Let's just mind-zap them with a TV in back seat? What happened to constructive fighting? Or am I getting old and uncool?

We've tried lots of things but 7 hours in the car with a 5 year old (with autism) and a 2 year old can be quite a challenge. During the daylight part of the trip they worked on coloring and workbooks but during the dark part of the trip they watch 1 movie (Winnie the pooh or some other non violent movie- Which are getting harder to find). I don't think 1/7th of the trip spent watching a calming movie constitutes "mind-zapping".
Old and Uncool? No just not as open-minded as some. This is not meant to be an insult just a comment. Everybody makes choices based on their experience. Some are good and some are bad. I do agree with you that there are some kids who watch entirely too much tv. Mine get no more that 2 hours per day most days only 30 minutes and that is educational not mind numbing power rangers, et. al.
Happy New Year!

I got a blue topaz necklace and earrings, and some bath & body works! It wasn't a very big Christmas, present-wise, but it was awesome family-wise!!!
CPD: I wish they had those dvd players when my kids were little. We had a mini van, and I had to put one in the middle seat and one in the "way back" seat. Then had to somehow keep the son in the way back seat from kicking the middle seat, and keep the son in the middle seat from "looking" at his brother in the back! I miss those days of "He's looking at me!"
