What are the chances of getting an Outdoor Sports Forum where we could discuss firearms, archery, hunting, fishing, etc. ? With about 30 sportsmens clubs in Washington Co. alone I think it would become popular. The one topic about shooting irons was very popular. Just as an FYI, Washington Co. currently has probably the best youth small bore rifle team on the east coast. Thanks

I think the chances are good. Although no one expressed interest in this post, we have a lot of avid hunters and fishermen. And there was a time when Webbie added a bunch of new requested forums like music, movies, etc.

The only problem I see with it is that we have so many different little nooks and crannies around here that no one bothers to delve into. There are categories rarely used in here and some that hardly ever have a sprinkling of new topics. "Health" is a good example.

If I had it to my way, I would combine more topics into broader groups. Instead of having a separate forum for books, movies and music; create one forum under which all these could be discussed. And I suggest that only because these categories aren't very busy like "Washington County" or "mail call."


Just sayin'. Know what I mean?

I meant to combine them under a broader topic heading such as "entertainment." If you'd like to talk, for instance, about movies, books, music, etc., post under the "entertainment" section.

It doesn't have to be hunting and fishing although that would be nice. In this area on any given day of the week we have trap & skeet shooting, cowboy action shoots, rifle or shotgun target shoots, women handgun classes, olympic style archery, 3D archery and assorted youth programs. This summer local clubs in Hagerstown will be hosting IBO Archery Tournament and IR50 State Rifle Tournament. How about Little League baseball or Jr. League football. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.

How do we discuss any of the above when our options are High School, College or Pro Sports?

How about local sports? I just don't think if you narrow it down to target shooting or pee wee football
you are going to have a lot of interest and it'll wind up being one of those topics nobody even checks.

You can post topics relating to those things in Maryland Events, West Virginia Events and I don't know about anyone else, but if I want to post a topic that doesn't really fit anywhere, I just put it in "getting by with a little help from my friends." I kinda see it as a catch-all.
