Mine would definatly be the train. The seats in coach are nice and big, you can move all about, they have REAL food, and you get to see the country. Anytime I have to go somewhere I always try to go Amtrak.

I'd have to say car. Because, if you wanted to stop to see something on the way to your destination you'd be able to stop.

I said car cus I AIN"T FLYIN! ohmy.gif
I've never been on a train anywhere(sigh). sad.gif

I hate flying! The seats in coach are REALLY small, and you get like nothing to eat. Then you've got to deal with all the security, and the hassle with parking and the such. With Amtrak I pop into the train station in Martinsburg, pay $3 a day for parking, and I walk straight to the platform.

I like to fly if it's a long distance, but otherwise we drive. From an affordability standpoint, driving definitely wins if we make the trip in one day. Would love to Amtrak some day, but so far the timetables haven't worked for us. I know Amtrak had a 30 day travel pass with Canada's VIArail back in April or May. Travel all you want on those lines for with 1 pass. And it seemed affordable too. Really want to explore Canada by rail someday.

I'll always prefer driving....I don't care how long it takes
or whatever....you're on your own timetable, your own
agenda, and you can choose where to go, when you'll
get there, and what to eat.

Of course, when business requires an overseas trip,
there isn't much choice... wink.gif

Well, when you go to Europe you can take Cunard's QEII for about $4,000 a person! Now, who in their right mind would pay that much money besides the Queen herself? Maybe I'm just toooo cheap.

Some people have more dollars than sense!!
WVDragonlady
And some people are status conscious(is that spelled rite?). rolleyes.gif

I guess not a sole likes Greyhound!
Romulus
Oh my, don't get me started on greyhound! I went on a trip to Detroit from Va Beach years ago and it took almost 31/2 days to get there. Bathroom was a hygenic nightmare and the smell ooooooooooooooooooogggggghhhhhh!!!!

Greyhound is good for people in tight financial trouble to get home but if you decide that this is "the" way to travel on vaction, I hope your wanting to stop at every podunk town on your way to your destination. I'd rather hitch hike with the Manson Family before i'd take another Bus trip. wink.gif
WVU-Mountaineers
That was pretty much what I had figured. Plus, your bus is subject to traffic.
