This is wishfull thinking but it will let others in the Forum get to know you better, plus it's a relaxing thought. If I won a million dollar's, first i would pay off our home, i would add a sun room with all glass windows, i would buy an african gray bird. I would build my Mom and Dad a home of there choice, and closer to me. My sister and her husband have lived in there home for twenty three year's the man that owned it died and the new owner is knocking it down to rebuild., i would buy them a home also, my other sister's husband is in the forth stage of cancer, she has many bill's I would pay them all off, i would also try to get my brother-in-law in a more advanced hospital.

If i didn't spend it all, I would build a huge Log Cabin home, with a porch that would rab around the whole cabin, It would be near a river. I love water is it so relaxing and peacefull, and i also love to skim rock's and fish. This would be our vacation home we could take our dog's with us.. i hate boarding them..

A million bucks doesn't go as far as it used to. I would pay off our mortgage maybe buy a beach house and
bank some money for college (3 kids). I would love to be able to quit work but I'll have to hit mega millions
for that. now if it was 10 Mil. I'd take a limo to work and tell them all to kiss....... you get the picture laugh.gif

First thing I would do is pay off all my debts & make sure my Dad is living comfortably. Then I would take care of my kids...not enough to spoil them, but pay off their cars and debts so they can afford to go to college. Then if I have enough left over, I would buy a little house at the beach!

Anybody in my family with a mortage would get it paid off. Then I'd get the wife and I our "dream cars". After that, I'd just invest the rest so I wouldn't have to worry about a second career when I retire in ten years.

Donate, pay off debt (mortgage, student loan), buy a new vehicle (nothing dreamy, LOL), buy a 20+ acre farmette.

Is that $1M before or after taxes? huh.gif

It is not so much money anymore, especially after taxes. I'd have to keep working, but I'd have a mini-ranch with some Big Boy Toys, help out family members.

If I hit it really big, there would be lotsa kids much happier than they are today. I'd do some type of children's charity especially for kids who got a bad break in life.

$1 Million? Phhhth not even enough to dream with.

Pay off our house.
Buy the shack next door and tear it down.
Pay off debt.
College fund for the daughter.

Continue working (and just for E. Continue serving my country).
Udmas
Invest it and retire a couple years early.

I wouldn't kick $1 million out of bed. wink.gif

That won't even buy a nice apartment or house in DC/Arlington/Potomac.

I'd find a decent place to live, pay off my college loans, build my racecar, take care of my family, but one million disappears QUICK.

You're right about that! Sad isn't it? Hey, this could go in the "I remember" thread...I remember when a million dollars could buy a nice house, send my kids to college, and I could retire all at the same time laugh.gif

cfulmor,

After going in for questioning i now believe Mrs. Shiffler more than likley did not know. This has been really hard for me to deal with, knowing the Shifflers. I knew a few years back something just wasn't right. Jeff got hooked up with some really-really bad people as did his Wife, I watched them change. At first I thought maybe he would do this other Family good, but after a while I know he only was using them, some how I feel this other Family is linked to all that Jeff has done, they was way to close and now bang there is No contact, the other Family is laying very low. I don't think the investagation is over yet ( this is my opinon ) The answer to your question, yes i would share my money with Mrs. Shiffler if she needed it. But let's get real it's all a dream...................

Who is it that I am associating with, on this forum, that one million dollars is nothing? If you're worth that much, then what the hell is wrong with you that your spend your million so selfishly?

You'd "continue serving" as a millionaire but intend to resign when Ms. Rodham is elected dry.gif

I would, like many here, pay off my mortgage, then build/buy each of my kids a starter home so they wouldn't have to worry about rent or mortgage. If that is all the million would buy, that is a dream come true, IMHO.

Now for the selfish part..... Yeah!! If I had alot left over, (ok, but this is my dream!! tongue.gif ), I would make a backyard wonderland. I would build a beautiful greenhouse and have a pool that looks like a pond with all kinds of landscape around it. Maybe even have it indoors, but have the ceiling able to open up when it is sunny. Like in alot of nice hotels! And then, with the money left over, biggrin.gif , I would hire someone full time to take care of it all!!! Wow!

Now, back to reality..........
