Ok I live in Marlowe, and yes we are getting sewer. I myself welcome that because where I live the water table is pretty high, so we`have to get our septic pumped more than I'd care to talk about. When it rains alot I hate hearing that glug glug sound coming from my toliet!! Never know if we are going to have to call in the toliet heros or not!
Anway I digress.....here is what I have heard from pretty reliable sources. Walmart IS being built at the old truck stop property along with possibly Home Depot, and a strip mall to go along with it. Some were saying it wouldn't be a Super Walmart, but I don't think they even build anything else now. A Food Lion is supposed to be built in the Marlowe area somewhere, maybe right off exit 23 somewhere, AND a Sheetz is supposed to be going in where they are tearing down the Handi Shopper...

I LOVED that place!!!!!
I hear things all the time, but these seem to be the solid ones. I know we have to live with development, but geez!!!!! I risk my life getting out of my road everytime I go out now! Rt. 11 North has quite a few roads that are literally blind to the speeding drivers who never look at the signs telling them there is a road ahead, and that we, as the residents of those roads, cannot see if anyone is coming when we pull out!! So we have to pray and GO!! Nothing willbe done about this though until someone gets KILLED, then I'm not so sure.
I, for one, am all for zoning!!!! We have a County Commission who has had builders on it, who do not think, but instead see dollar signs. We need roads fixed, we need the infrastructure upgraded, you name it !
Everytime you turn around there is ANOTHER housing development going in with those McMansion style houses....how do these people afford those things anyway!?t!!
By the time we get it, we won't need it. There won't be an acre left to do anyting with anyway!!!! I really have loved living here for the last 16 years, but it is getting so bad here that we are constantly builing new schools to compensate, but they are full before they are built! If we had IMPACT FEES maybe we as a county could afford all this sprawl!!! The developers make million, or should I say billions on our backs. WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO DO SOMETHING?!?!?!?!
