We could be getting our own walmart here in this end of town! Now if we could just get a Lowes or Home depot......

I'm thinking that they'll have put another traffic light in some where because it's already crazy at that intersection! Even with the light there.

I also read in the Journal where B.C. is looking at extending the water and sewer out that way for more development.

We'll be the new Inwood! blink.gif unsure.gif

This is good news. Maybe it'll relieve some of the congestion and general mayhem at the Hagerstown Wal Mart.

I don't know about that. It will probably help a little at both hagerstown and the one at the Mart. mall.

Got to admit tho, it will be handy. wink.gif

I know a lot of people that will love having a Wal Mart in Falling waters just so they won't have to drive to Hagerstown and hassle with getting in & out of that shopping center!

Now if they'll just re-model the Charles Town Wal Mart to keep up with the times, we'll be set! I hate that place mad.gif

Not so sure everyone will like the added traffic to the area! Myself for one do not want the added problems associated with this. The whole area is turning in to the golden mile. too many people and too much traffic.

The thought of a Wal Mart in Falling Waters makes me ill. I grew up there.

The name is Falling Waters, not Falling Prices. dry.gif

I thought Walmart was planning a store in Inwood as well...

According to another local newspaper, Walmart is denying these rumors.

Ok I live in Marlowe, and yes we are getting sewer. I myself welcome that because where I live the water table is pretty high, so we`have to get our septic pumped more than I'd care to talk about. When it rains alot I hate hearing that glug glug sound coming from my toliet!! Never know if we are going to have to call in the toliet heros or not!

Anway I digress.....here is what I have heard from pretty reliable sources. Walmart IS being built at the old truck stop property along with possibly Home Depot, and a strip mall to go along with it. Some were saying it wouldn't be a Super Walmart, but I don't think they even build anything else now. A Food Lion is supposed to be built in the Marlowe area somewhere, maybe right off exit 23 somewhere, AND a Sheetz is supposed to be going in where they are tearing down the Handi Shopper... cry.gif I LOVED that place!!!!!

I hear things all the time, but these seem to be the solid ones. I know we have to live with development, but geez!!!!! I risk my life getting out of my road everytime I go out now! Rt. 11 North has quite a few roads that are literally blind to the speeding drivers who never look at the signs telling them there is a road ahead, and that we, as the residents of those roads, cannot see if anyone is coming when we pull out!! So we have to pray and GO!! Nothing willbe done about this though until someone gets KILLED, then I'm not so sure.

I, for one, am all for zoning!!!! We have a County Commission who has had builders on it, who do not think, but instead see dollar signs. We need roads fixed, we need the infrastructure upgraded, you name it !

Everytime you turn around there is ANOTHER housing development going in with those McMansion style houses....how do these people afford those things anyway!?t!!

By the time we get it, we won't need it. There won't be an acre left to do anyting with anyway!!!! I really have loved living here for the last 16 years, but it is getting so bad here that we are constantly builing new schools to compensate, but they are full before they are built! If we had IMPACT FEES maybe we as a county could afford all this sprawl!!! The developers make million, or should I say billions on our backs. WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO DO SOMETHING?!?!?!?!
