So I'm up compiling a CD mix for my friend's birthday instead of writing a paper. Help me out? I'm trying to remember all those girly 80s pop songs that would play at the skating rink:

Voices Carry
Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam - All Cried up
Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam - Head to Toe
T'Pau - Heart and Soul
Madonna - Crazy for You
Kool and the Gang - Cherish
Duran Duran - Reflex

and even stuff from later on, like Pet Shop Boys.

Got any ideas? A little help?

What was that song, The Warrior? I can't find it.

Pat Benatar sang Warrior

I remember hearing Frankie's Relax and She blinded me with science
and Wham songs playing at the rinks.

Ok... I am not great with song titles... remember mostly the chorus. But here are some of my faves from that era (some might be early 90s... and I'm not sure about some of the artists... I forget these things):

Take On Me... Ah Ha?
Manic Monday... Bangles
I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight... Cutting Crew
Girls Just Want To Have Fun... Lauper
She Drives Me Crazy... FYC
Need You Tonight... INXS
We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off
I Melt With You... Modern English?
Jessie's Girl (my favorite)
Addicted to Love... Robert Palmer
Don't You Forget About Me... classic Breakfast Club, of course
Talking In Your Sleep
Tainted Love
Shout... Tears for Fears
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go

SMan
Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House
Vacation - Go Go's
Hold Me Now - Thompson Twins
Bad Boy - Miami Sound Machine

I'm listening to the 80's station on sat radio. It's a gold mine for skating rink music!

A great song that makes me think of Miami Vice (they used it in an episode).

Oh the memories! Remember when MTV was new and they actually played videos?

This thread reminds me of this little bar on the ground floor of this house that was within walking distance of campus where the TV in the back was always tuned to MTV and we would get hammered 5 nights a week. The bartender used to let certain students take over for him when he would get sleepy and head off to bed. His son owned the gym where I worked out just up the street.

Smoking hash in my buds car as we drove into Philly every Friday to spend the day synthesizing new drugs for a secret gov't project at the Franklin Research Institute. No wait, that was more of a Pink Floyd memory... laugh.gif
