Hey guys. Since this virus has happened,I went ahead and downloaded Firefox.
Anyone else have it? Do you like it? How's it do against this sort of attacks? It seems to really load the pages faster than my supposed peoplepc accelerator.
I have noticed that if java is disabled, I can't use the shoutbox or the smilies.
Do I just need to disable java or java script for this virus attack?

I am really liking Firefox, especially the tabbed browsing. As for scripts, if you click on tools>extensions and then select GET MORE EXTETENSIONS. Look for one called NOSCRIPT. Once installed it will put a small S symbol on the bottom status bar of Firefox. When you go to a website that doesn't load properly click the S and select the scripts you want to run. Kind of a pain at first but once allowed they will always be allowed. You can also select allow temporarily for those ones you are unsure of.

I just disable both for now to be safe.

I switch between Firefox and IE 7 beta2 (includes tab browsing finally). Firefox seems to throw fits for me once in awhile maybe its a bad extension. I am using Firefox with java disable for sites like this and IE for things needing java.

Have you had any problems with the IE beta?

I've been doing the same thing using Fire fox and IE 6 I thought about downloading IE7 but wasn't sure I need at least one browser that works.

I love Firefox... I've been using it as my default browser for some time now with a few extensions for modifications. I tried IE7 beta, and found a few bugs right away so I did a system restore to get it off my computer. biggrin.gif

I've been running FF for a couple years now and they've added a lot of great extensions but IMO tabbed browsing is the best new technology in computing in at least a decade. I'd rank it with the jump from DOS to windows.

I have carpal tunnel, which I attribute to browsing. I can recall a few late night browsing sessions where I couldn't grip a tooth brush the next morning. TB has been a life saver for me. Plus it's easy to hack. Or if you don't like messing with CSS code you can do the same things using Tabbrowser Preferences or Tab Mix. And mouse gestures saves a lot more clicking.

If you haven't tried them already you might want to check out this sight.

Beta 2 seems to be working fine for me. Beta 1 didn't work as good.
