I personally will vote for Rowdy, he's got me beat by a slim margin.

I know you were joking, but I have to say the one positive about these forums is the fact that they've managed to go so long without permanently booting anyone. Even though Rowdy got banned temporarily, and I'm sure I've come within a hair's breadth of the same many times, it's to the credit of the mods and webbie that banning rarely happens.

believe it or not I actually think all 3 of these posters serves a purpose and the board wouldn't be the same without them. Cfulmor- I dont think I've ever seen you post anything I would call disruptive. B- love him or hate him he's 1 of a kind and he usually responds only when provoked. And my buddy Rowdy!!!!!!
I can't even find the words for him but as long as it isn't racist, sexist, or perverted let him rant!

I think i banned the nambla guy a long time ago... spammers don't even get a warning...

as far as the others, we've all tiptoed past the line on many occasions, but when asked to modify their posts, i think everyone here respects the requests.

having talked to Rowdy in person, i've developed a new found respect for him.... he's a heck of a nice guy...he has strong opinions just like everyone else here.

while i don't usually agree with BMIC, he does get me thinking in areas that I may not have otherwise considered.

I think that in order to be a good mod you need to have a sense of what genuinely offends people and that's why Yoss and Heather have been so good at it. As I've said before, I haven't been offended by anything since the Colts left Baltimore, and unfortunately I would more than likely be the one that others find offensive.

Since Heather did such a good job, I think we should consider another female for at least one of the 2 (I'm assuming) openings. PHISH and/or Naomi would both be excellent mods.

Thanks for the nod, but as Naomi said, I'm pretty much snowed under.....when Aug 21st hits, I'll be taking 16 credits (one of my classes is with Heather!!!), working, dealing with house, kid, and husband (or is that kid #2? ). I have forum withdrawl from time to time because I somtimes manage to get here only 2 or 3 times a week .

JMO, but I worry about CPD a little.

The big problem with this is that none of us really knows how anyone will change once they're given Moderator status. Even the most mild-mannered person could take their new responsibilities far too seriously and interfere when they should just leave well enough alone, and ruin the place.

As it is currently, I think of all of those with such powers currently, only webbie really seems to consistently show an appropriate degree of restraint. Heather was doing good until for some reason within the past couple of months she started going mental on us (no offense intended, H - just a typical "BMIC" way of putting it). Yoss has been pretty good, but he has his moments. But of course that's just my opinion, and few people around here generally care for my opinions much.

To a certain extent, we would all give one another the nod. In fact, we went for quite a while while everyone had Mod powers by default, and we didn't have any problems until a few people started using them a bit too much - demonstrating that most of us could probably do the job well enough, as long as we didn't think we were EXPECTED to exercise our powers overmuch.

You seem to be the only one who holds this opinion. Everyone else thinks Heather was doing a fine job, myself included. Maybe Heather's not the one who's mental.

As for my own nomination - thanks Naomi and Idiot, but no thanks. I gave up babysitting a long time ago and with the crybabies on this forum, I would not be nearly as tolerant as Yoss and Heather have been. It's a thankless job, and you take a lot of flack (see BMIC's comments above), but someone's gotta do it. I just don't think I'm the right person.

I think Naomi is an excellent choice, along with Samy0 and CPD. Any of them would be more than capable of handling the task. Good Luck!
