I am by no means a audiophile, but I requested and received an MP3 player as a combined b-day/Father's day gift and I love it!

I got the MobiBlu 1500i http://www.mobibluamerica.com/dah1500.html
1GB flash memory
FM radio
voice recorder
billed as the world's smallest MP3 player

Mostly listening to Podcasts but am (as I type) loading it up with music. I just found an attachment for it that allows it to play thru the car FM radio! Awesome!

2 Thumbs up!

Nice! Enjoy!

I have an iPod. Love it, but if I had to do over again, would have gotten something else. I hate being married to iTunes.

Creative Zen Nano is really nice. I use a Rio for when I workout though since its a little more rugged.

I'd eBay your iPod. wink.gif

Nice!

I have a 30GB video Ipod to hold my whole music collection in my truck. I hated to buy an Ipod but it was the only one that would hook to my GM radio the way I wanted it to. It is the only place I use mine. If I used it elsewhere I would have definitely got something like the Zen. Drop and drag files is much better then itunes hell.

Why?

Because you'll pay $50-100 for a new battery when it dies AND (unless things have changed) have to send your iPod to Apple for them to replace it.

Yeah, they leave that part off of the packaging.

The internet is your friend. biggrin.gif

Well yeah, you can buy a battery online and replace it, but by doing that you void the warranty of the iPod. dry.gif Plus, its not like you just pop the back off and plug a battery in.

So why not just buy a Nano or other smaller and high quality mp3 player (that uses regular batteries) for cheaper, with a warranty, and the same (and in some cases, more) features than an iPod?

Apple has always been an innovator, but they constantly fail at taking things a step further.

When I bought mine a few months ago I didnt see any other mp3 player able to be controlled by the OEM radio and its controls. That is the only reason I bought one. Battery life shouldnt be a big concern for me since mine is always plugged in. LOL Hopefully by then flash memory will be alot more the 4GB's.

I have a 3rd generation 20 gig ipod. When it dies, I'll get something with flash memory. The hard drive based players are just too finicky and even though it's pretty cool that I can, I don't really need to carry every CD and song I own around with me.

Check this out, looks pretty sweet! $399 though
