Went to CVS to get some sudafed today...Think I'm starting to get a headcold. When I get to the shelf there are plastic cards there that says "take this to the pharmacy counter". Went there gave them the card they handed me a 24 pack of sudafed. Went to cashier she asks for my DL then swipes it on the AMT thingie.
WTF now I'm on a list of meth cookers...great
Is this a new state law?
Add me to the list of "wasn't born with enough middle fingers"

I had a similar experience when I bought Sudafed from CVS. The only difference was that when I brought the package up to the counter, they made me fill out a form that included my name, address, phone, and I think she asked for my i.d. as well. I was totally surprised. She explained that people were using some ingredient for making meth. It's unbelievable how you can't even buy cold meds anymore without giving away all your information. Somone's always got to ruin it for others.

Walmart and CVS have had that policy in place for a couple years now. House policy... not law .... yet (at least i don't think MD has a precursor law yet, some folks are pushing it though)
I'd have figured you for a weed guy anyhow.... I'd card ya for fertilizer and grow lights....

I went through this a few months ago. I wasn't happy. Almost made me tell them to keep the crap but I was too sick to care at the moment.

No precursor law yet, but they tried to push one through earlier this year. It was house bill 1098 and it was nixed in the judiciary committee. The bill proposed logging purchases and making it illegal to purchase more than 6 grams of pseudoephedrine.

Nothing wrong with keeping the bad stuff off the streets.
Druggies are desperate enough to buy the stuff, I have no problem with the extra step.

There's a FEDERAL precursor law that applies to Pseudoephedrine-containing products. However, I don't think it goes this far, unless they just changed it. DEA has multiple web sites about it but as I recall the regs are complex. The last time I willingly waded into that mess was at work, looking for an exemption for research labs.

Target uses the plastic tabs and makes you get the medicine from the pharmacist. On the other hand, KMart has Dayquil and Nyquil, etc. on display on the shelves, and you just pick up what you need.
Anyway, what it going on with this bug that is giving everyone runy noses, headaches, sore throats, and achey bodies? Heck, it's summer; we shouldn't be so sick. Damn. I have it also and my nose has been running for three days. Ugh!.
