With all the great fresh produce out now, I wanted to make it known that there is a great little Farmers Market in Charles Town on Thursdays! I was able to buy fresh, organic meats & produce; and they also have bedding plants, baked goods and gifts.

It's on 340 in the BB&T parking lot, from 4 til 7pm every Thursday. Coming from Harpers Ferry, the BB&T is located just past the Food Lion and Chevy dealership, on the left.

How are the prices? Are you paying al premium for "Fresh" and "Organic" meats and produce, or do you save versus the usual grocery store price? I know we all like the added flavor and health benefits or fresh and organic stuff, but if it's cheap too, that would be great.

The produce I believe was actually cheaper than the grocery store. For example, I bought a quart basket of white peaches, 1 pound of green beans, 1 1/2 pounds of redskin potatoes, and a quart basket of plums for $11.00. Some of the meat prices seemed a little pricey, but I didn't check all that they had. I bought a pound of sandwich steaks for $5, and ham steaks which were $4.00 a pound.

Anyone living over here ever make it to the Inwood Farmer's Market? I keep meaning to,but never do. I think they're open Monday thru Saturday. I guess I'll just have to mark it down and make myself go. I was just wondering if anyone's been and what they had there. biggrin.gif

Where in Inwood is it? I may like to go over there on a Saturday!

The farm that sets up at the market in C-Town also has their own market, Tudor Hall Farm Market in Middleway. They have the organic meats, dairy products and veggies. We're going to go out and stock the freezer this fall.

Here is their website: http://www.tudorhallfarmmarket.com/
