My hubby and I were flipping channels last Friday afternoon and stopped on one the court shows (Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, etc.). In one of the cases, they were talking about a Uniway contract. We've never heard of them, so I looked them up on the internet and they seem to be mainly in the south. It is a club that you join and then get discounts on merchandise (furniture, tv's, jewelry, etc.).

It costs approximately $1,500 - $2,000 for the membership up front (paid over 15 months) and then approximately $100 a month. Here is their web site: Uniway.

The big complaints that I've seen is that they use high pressure sales tactics, you can't see what kind of merchandise will be available until you become a member and depending on which location you have a contract with, you have anywhere from 3 days to 30 days to cancel the contract, but most times they won't cancel it.

I've read on ripoff.com that many people love it and say they've saved thousands of dollars. I'm not sure; I kind of think this ranks up there with those rent to own places.

I'm just curious if anyone has ever hear of them or done any business with them.
