Been there twice. The menu is okay... a little different than every other restaurant but not TOO much different. (I like different) The atmosphere is nice. As a former Floridian, it reminded me a lot of some of the beach restaurants down there. I want to move back. sad.gif

The service is what sucked though, both times... but the first much more than the second. I thought that I was going to have to train the waitress myself and I've never waited a table in my life. She was slow and she seemed to know nothing about what was on the menu, then they brought me the wrong food. The bartender sent the waitress to ask me how I would like my Rusty Nail. WTF?! It's just 3/4 scotch and 1/4 drambuie on the rocks.

The girl that I was with told me "oh all restaurants go through that when they first open!". Pfft!

Anyways, I'm willing to look past the crappy service because the food and drinks were good, it has a nice sized bar with TVs, and the general atmosphere was comfortable.

I'm not familiar with this place... can you give me a brief description?

Food style? Menu items?

General atmosphere?

Location?

I'm always on the lookout for cool, new places.

It's on the Dual Highway by the Clarion. It's just a basic menu really, steaks, wraps, seafood, burgers, etc. I've been there twice and I liked it. The drinks are kind of expensive, but not really any more expensive then any other resturant. My dad took me and 3 other girls there and paid $100. That was with 5 people and we all ordered food and alcoholic drinks. I like the atmosphere, but I've only been in there during the day when they have all the blinds open and it's sunny out. It's nice and bright. Both times I've been, I sat at the bar so I don't know about the resturant section. The bartenders seemed to know what they were doing.
I did see in the paper that they were hiring, so I"m sure the service is probably going to be crappy for awhile. My friend applied and they turned her down even though she had 20+ years waitressing experience. I think they look to hire "pretty" people (ever been in Cancun Cantina? That's what the people in Barefoot Bernies look like IMO).
Overall it's a nice resturant, I think I'd go back to it.

Here is the menu so you can check it out.

Thanks, Phish.

Not a whole lot there for a veg-head like me. wink.gif

IMO none of the waitresses at Bernie's were old enough to dress like the ones in Cantina. laugh.gif

laugh.gif Atleast they wear more clothes then the ones in the cantina do. I took my friend in there who looks exactly like Bernie, even complete with the sunglasses. The girl asked him for his name, and when he said Bernie, she said, no your real name....(that's his real name)
