Unbelieveable
My vote goes stright to Jerry Joyce with out a DOUBT !

As for Gordy Lynn, what a JOKE ! But than again it would be so funny to see him have to put away the people he let walk...................... laugh.gif

Just my two cents....

You do realize that Mr. Joyce has been helping to let "people walk" for years as a defense attorney? Just like he walked when he was charged with assaulting a cop who was (allegedly) having a fling with his wife?

Plus, Mr. Lynn has to get by the Republican primary against Greg Bannon and incumbent Charles Strong to get to the general election.

We need someone that's going to be the toughest on criminals. Not sure who I'm voting for as of yet.
I like seeing who's got the most experience in criminal law.

My vote will be between Bannon & Strong. I like what both have to say.
Plus the exper. Bannon got his law degree in 79', and Strong in 72'

I would have like to read more about Joyce. What would he do as a state attorney?

Not that he's going to pledge 10% of his salary each year toward the Web site, to a programs that would cut down on fraud and the victimization of the elderly and to orgainizations such as the Police Athletic League, which helps disadvantaged children. I'm all for helping out the elderly, disadvantage children, etc. The ideal of the web site sounds great. But

Like is he going to be tougher on the criminals? How he feel about giving lighter sentences? Things of that nature.

I got an interesting letter from Bannon -- give him a call or e-mail and he'll call you whenever you want to chat. Some folks here might wanna do that.

Any cops or folks who work with cops here that wanna give any input on the strengths and weaknesses of various SA candidates?

Snoopy- If you take him up on his offer and talk to him tell him to join the forum. He could answer questions here and probably drum up some support. To date only Kid has posted under the ask the candidates thread.

I'm not voting for either one. I plan to vote for Mr. Strong.

rolleyes.gif First, I have to say that the race for Primary comes September 12th and that will be between Gordon Lynn, Greg Bannon and Charlie Strong. After that comes whichever of these three against Jerry Joyce.
Let's see -- who's the best person for the job??? Who to vote for on September 12th
Well, Greg Bannon doesn't even have prosecutorial experience, but he doesn't think that will be a problem in taking over the State's Attorney position!????????? Yea, right.

Charlie Strong was never even elected into the State's Attorney position in the first place. He got it by DEFAULT when Ken Long Jr. got his judgeship (which he surely deserved) in 2004. So Charlie has never been really JUDGED by the people. I hope the Washington County Voters realize that he basically is not a true incumbant, because he was never elected into the office he holds. (Sort of like Gerald Ford when Richard Nixon appointed him to replace Spiro T. Agnew)

Ok, that leaves Gordon Lynn. He has the prosecutorial experience. He is the only candidate running for this position who served his country in the U.S. Armed Forces. And unlike his other two opponents, he has always been a registered Republican (he hasn't switched parties just to gain votes)

So, gee-------I wonder who the best man for State's Attorney is???

G O R D O N L Y N N!!!

What about all the people that the current State's Attorney office have not dealt with properly?
I think that everywhere you go, there is always going to be someone who you can feel got away with "murder" per se. Look at not only what kind of lawyer he is, but the person himself and how he treats people around him.

Because Gordy is a great person and is very fair!! As a lawyer is out-standing in his legal ability. I have seen him in action and he knows what he is doing! Isn't that the type of person you want in an important position like State's Attorney???

Not to nitpick, but the definition of incumbent is merely a person currently holding an office. That makes Strong the incumbent. Regardless, I will be voting for Gordy Lynn. cool.gif
