Since I haven't had a vacation this year, I have beach envy! sad.gif

Please tell me about your beach vacations! Actually, it doesn't have to be a beach vacation...any vacation will do. Post about it here!

grrrrr.....

I was going to Niagara Falls and Toronto the end of this month. But, unfortunately one of my cats got sick so vacation money had to be re-routed.

maybe next year.....

I remember going to OC the first time. Seeing the ocean as we pulled up to the hotel. I was 13 at the time. I thought WOW!!! I am coming here every summer. I only got to go a year or 2 more. sad.gif I thought it had only been 14 years since I been there. It has been about 20. mad.gif I hope to make up for lost time this weekend there. laugh.gif Seeing my girlfriends youngest experience for the first time will probably be something special.

Headed back to Cape Hatteras over the Labor Day weekend.

Go ahead and delete it if want.

I think it's 5 bucks eastbound, nothing westbound. They also offer the added service of driving your car across for you if you call ahead, or at least they used to. My sister-in-law used it several times back in the 90s.

Good! I've got two names picked out for furry additions to my home, but I still haven't decided if I'm ready. sad.gif I don't know if my heart can stand it.

Sorry. Off topic. ph34r.gif

Vacations...beaches...hmmmm....

We used to do Myrtle every year and sometimes the lifeguards would notice a large school of fish coming through and would call everyone out of the ocean in case sharks were nipping at their heels. Oh the delicious, tingly excitement/anxiety as my parents would help me plunge through the waves and deep water to get back on the beach! Once my father gave me a stern look and calmly ordered me back to the beach immediatly. But why, dad? Just go. Now. I grumbled and cocked my head like a curious puppy and gave him the ol' doe eyed pout. Heather I just felt something big brush against me.

blink.gif

Oh boy I hauled ass back to the beach and didn't look back until I was on dry sand. I turned around and everyone was still in the ocean. Even dad. Friggin' fibber! To this day he won't admit that he was joking around. Turd. I wasn't scurred at all. cool.gif

Did a cruise to Bermuda this past Spring. Think hurricane-speed winds and waves coming over the front of the boat. All in all, not a great experience. Neither DH nor I got seasick, but 2 out of our party of 5 were out of commission for 2 days (5 day cruise).

Did OC in June... a family thing. Was ok, but it was during Senior Week. A little too much fun even for me.

Planning another OC trip in Sept, this time with friends. Looking forward to it.

DH an I went to OC in June. It was my first trip there in about 20 years. We had a great time. Seacrets is awesome!

Travel Tip: Book your room reservations online. We saved over $200. We shopped online, went to OC and tried to check in to the hotel we preferred. The rates were $200 higher than expected! We explained that we saw the rates online for less. The check-in clerk didn't seem to care. So we went out into the parking lot, called my daughter at home and walked her through making the reservation online. We went right back into the hotel and checked in with our confirmation number. laugh.gif
