I happen to think boys are pains, but cute...and if you are lucky they grow up to be good men--vs. wussy, touchy feely icky things...

When I was just a girl(when dinos roamed the earth

) I thought all boys were stupid. Plus I was in one of my "silly" moods.

I'll get around to changing it sometime.
icky things???????????

OK,I went ahead and took the plunge and started a new subscription.Got a pretty good deal from the fella at the Flower show yesterday. $10.65 per month, and thats for the full week and the Sunday paper too.
Apparently they've lost customers because of bad delivery service and when I told him so,he gave me the direct line and extesion(sp?) of someone named Tom who's in charge of that dept.
I also got a $5 gift card to Martins and a card called an EZ something or other(blonde moment here) where I can use it as many times as I want till Aug. for things like a free appitizer at the Texas steak house and free entree if you by one at the Waffle house, and a lube job(no comments from the pea-nut gallery) and I can't remember what all.
So,we'll have to wait and see if the service is good or not.And if this Tom person will fix any problems that come up. It starts on the 28th.

Is that the deal where they automatically deduct it from your checking acc't each month?
Thread Hijack warning.
What didja' think of the Flower Show this year? I went Saturday, and it didn't seem like there were as many vendors there as in the past. Plus it's too early and still too cold to have bought much of anything there this year. There were a lot of cars in the parking lots but the ARC didn't seem like it was crowded. Plenty of room to move around.

It was the EZ pay out of the credit card every month till I tell them to stop.
I thought it was small this year too. I thought that a couple of the usual vendors were gone and replaced by new ones.I got there before the doors opened on Sun. and when I was finished an hour later(11am) the lot was filling up fast. Is it just me or do you think that the prices were just a tad high for flowers? Now the herbs wrer ok in price. $2.50 a peice. But some of the prices on the other stuff!
And, I want it known that I passed up the Dragon that was there for only $119!! Now that was a cheap price for something like that!!!

Some of the prices were high, some reasonable. I missed the dragon, but I did see a bunch of neat looking gargoyles. I think you can do better on prices by just visiting some of the local vendors at their shops.
I picked up a notice about an herb festival in Mechanicsburg in April. I guess it's an annual event -- ever been?

The place on Va. Ave. (in Hag.) near the boat dealer has pretty good prices on flowers, veggie plants, seeds, produce, etc. Won't be long until my wife has me buying enough tomato plants there to supply tomatoes to half the county...

If I'm not mistaken, the Daily Mail aspires to be a "predominantly Hagerstown" newspaper while the Morning Herald is supposed to be more regional in scope. Is that what you want, WVU?

I've never had the chance to make to any of the herb fests. April is a fairly busy month what with birthdays and hubby takes a week off then.
Greenburg's on Va. Ave is pretty good on vegies and stuff, but it just seems to me that the vendors just might hike the prices just a tad for the show.
I don't know about WVU,but I don't care which paper I get. I'm an Eastender from Franklin St. Born and raised.I just like to keep up on whats-what. Some things aren't on the web site. Like who's getting divorced(he,he) and deed transfers(who's buying what).

Yeah, I meant the Daily Mail which comes in the evening right? Anyway, I've heard about bad delivery problems in the Martinsburg area, evidently half of the flyers you get on Sunday wouldn't be there. Anybody else have that problem?

A little off topic but, here is a site you can look at for info on house prices in Maryland. www.dat.state.md.us click on the propertys, then county and then put in a street name no address needed.
You can see how much the price of the house the present owner payed.
It helps in knowing how to price a house you might be interested in.

That's funny! The topics in this thread have gone from newspapers to flowers, herbs, tomatoes, and now home prices! But atleast we're not fighting

I think it was the deed transfers part of my last post that started the house prices thing.

Didn't go to the flower show this year, but when I was at Home Depot today, the garden center was looking pretty well stocked. Had the will-power not to go in, though!!
I never had a problem with delivery here or at our old place. The only issue I had was that we could only get the afternoon edition here because they didn't have a morning route.
Now as far at the Washington Post, they keep sending these 12 week offers, but every time I send them in, they say they don't deliver to our area. However, people on the other street of our subdivision have Post mailboxes. What's up with that?? I guess our street still isn't on the map....after 4 and half years!
