I cannot fathom what would drive an apparently decent guy to go nuts and do this. Bad batch of drugs? I dunno. The more I hear of late the more it seems like the best thing to do if you are in a group of hostages is try to get help to jump the guy and take your chances that way if at all possible. Sad...

How sad and needless, the loss of innocent young children from such a peaceful community. There can be no justification or explanation for the shooting. Remarkable comments from the Amish comminity are coming out. They do not sanction or understand the motivation of a lone milk man. Yet their strength to forgive him and also grieve for his small children is very moving.
