County Offers Free E-cycle Event

Do you have an old computer, monitor, TV set, radio or other electronic equipment that needs to be recycled? If you live in Washington County, you can "e-cycle" electronic items for free at 40-West Landfill on Saturday, November 18th.

The event is free to residents of the County at the landfill, one mile west of Huyett's crossroads on U.S. Route 40, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., sponsored by the Washington County Board of County Commissioners, the Maryland Department of the Environment and the Maryland Environmental Service.

Materials accepted will include computers and peripherals, with a maximum 4 monitors per vehicle, TV sets with a maximum of 4 per vehicle, radios, and telephones

For additional information contact the County Solid Waste Department at 240-313-2790.

Businesses may contact the Recycling Office at 240-313-2796 for business recycling information.

Ohhh, I think I just found a replacement for my blown computer. tongue.gif

You really ought to take advantage of this--it's the only time that you can recycle this stuff for free--think of all the lead in the solder plus other "heavy metals" in these devices.
