OK Froggy, here is what my kids asked for

22 yr old in college wants a PS3

19 yr old in college wants an XBOX 360

15 yr old wants a laptop, cuz her knew the PS3 was out of the question anyway

14 yr old daughter wants a new phone (ya know those $300 - $400 ones?)

so the only one who is going to actually be really happy is DD, cuz ther contract is up 12/5, so I will get a decent price on a new phone....so who else thinks it stinks how cell phone companies treat their loyal customers??? If you want a new phone BEFORE your contract time is up you have to pay RETAIL price!!!

Anyway, as the kids get older, it gets harder to buy for them, but they still want the BIG stuff!!

Oh yea and my husbands daughter and our 2 grandchildren are flying out here for Christmas from Seattle, so we have to do a Christmas for them too!!!

I would like anything on Heather's list. I would also love a nice pair of slippers. Am reading through the list to get inspiration, I need to get my sister something special. An idea will come, just hope I think of it befor Dec. 24. I am always slow to get motivated, not a real shopper. The crowds wear me out.

Personally, I don't have nothing on my wish list. What I do have would be impossible for it to come true.
My wish list would be that my father & mother could be here. But since their in heaven, I'll just have to say a prayer for them.

As far as Christmas itself goes, my children know. Christmas is not just about getting gifts, but it's also about helping the less fortunate folks. For they know, money don't grow on trees. Some people just need a little help along the way. To make their season bright for their children. Hard times can come upon us at anytime. You just never know.

Just to let you know, My mother pass away on Christmas Day 2003.
So Christmas can come and go, like the wind blows. sad.gif

Sorry to hear that SL2U, it's hard enough when a loved one passes away, but when they pass away on a formerly celebrated holiday it makes it infinitely more difficult.

Thank You, How well I know. My father pass away 3 weeks after Christmas, 30 years ago. I'm only 43 and most of my family are gone. It makes you appreciate, the little things in life. Cause it can all be gone in a heartbeat. That's why I always think of the people, that don't have much. Always making sure, I donate money to the poor folks. Just like my parents use to do for so many years.

It's not the receiving the makes me happy, It's the giving that I love. Just wish I could do more, but I can't.

Thank You for your kinds words. Got to go sad.gif

I am sure many struggle with the balance during the holiday season. Christmas can be about the good feelings we remember as well as the challenges, so it can be stressful. It can involve gifts, helping others, and the significance of the 25th. It can be hard. Sometimes an individual may take a short break and make a silly comment or share a lighter moment during this busy holiday season. It releives stress, others may even find satisfaction from helping others. We all have a fix or a way of coping. Holidays can be both unique & similiar to each of us.

I know I get down during the holidays due to some losses. My sister passed away this time last year so i try to keep busy helping others. Helping others sometimes makes December brighter for me. I do not have extra money but I do have time to share, so I try to spread it around when I can. Ironically, I find the initial part of January to be a let down after so much crazy activity. So I try to schedule a balance between work, volunteering, and enjoying nature. The best thing for me is getting up, active, and outside but it can be hard. Enjoying the great scenic areas nearby lets me be a better help to others, which helps. Getting out and about smooths out my January, which eliviates my "after holiday blues period". We are all muddling through. wink.gif

Best wishes to all for happiness in something all year round. I wish all good health, good times, and PEACE for 2007.

Lulu, consider the slippers a done deal, you work hard and are a kind soul to many. biggrin.gif

Sweet-I'm so sorry. I miss my dead mom too. Luckily it does get easier each year that passes, but it never goes away..at least I no longer get angry at others who have their parents alive & complain about it..

Community--we all wish for peace on earth...I do too...I wish for a stressfree time of the holidays. Unfortunately right now I am starting a new job and trying to deal with the whole Merry idea...recitals, kids taking classes at night, other misc events & feel highly stressed. I want a maid or a concierge for Christmas--think I can have one..watched one of my fav movies last night--Muppet Christmas Carol....
sweetliberty2u
Thank you all for your support. Really, I thank you from the botton of my heart.

Losing a love one is never easy for anyone. And though it might get better with time. Though you maybe able to go on with your life. You never forgot how you saw, your love one for the last time. At least I will never forget the horrible day. When I went to my mother's house to pick her up. Only to fine her lying on the floor, passed away. Now that's something I will never forget. She had just turn 65, two months before.

My mother was a kind hearted person. She would help just about anyone, if she could.
Always donating money to the poor. As she knew, how it felt to be dirt, dirt poor as a child.
Never knowing if they would have enough to eat or little alone have shoes to wear. As
her father was just a drunk, he never really care about the 7 children he had. Back in them
days, it seem that the wife stay with the husband. No matter how bad it got.

So for me, Christmas is about giving. For I can not miss, what I never had. What I do have,
I can't take it with me. I can only leave to my children, as they will do what they see fit.

Sorry for rambling, That's all I'll say. Thank You

Short mag or regular?

Ammo is pricey. Ever consider a .30-06 instead and use high-energy rounds (= to 300 Win. mag) when you need extra thump? Just an idea. Ya can shoot more then for the same $$$$.
Udmas
Long action. As for the cost of the ammo not a problem I reload. I'm after the long range capabilities, the 300 win mag is used in 600 and 1000 meter shoots, basically just buying it to play with and see how accurate I can get my reloads at a long range.

Plus a bi-pod and a few other extras and I'll have a cool sniper rifle.

Ever consider the Weatherby sub MOA? Saw a guy at the range with one shooting one holers at 50 yards the first day he got it. Said it did the same at 100 yards, too. Cheap, relatively speaking, for a guaranteed accurate gun.

Do you have to use 300 Win Mags in the shoots, or is that just the most popular round used?
