Full Version: Is it Comcast? My TV? The Digital Cable? Help!

Ok.... so I bought DH and new HDTV for Christmas. It's a Samsung LCD.

Anyhoo...

We then switched to digital cable through Comcast. They gave us a little digital cable box. We also got a special cable (HDMI?).

So on some channels--especially the On Demand stuff--the picture/sound comes through garbled. Like every few minutes it'll garble for a second and then return to normal. This comes and goes, and is worse on some channels than others. Or, for example, one day the Home & Garden channel is garbled, and the next day it's ABC.

We then plugged the TV directly into the old cable line (the one we used before our Digital Cable box), and everything looks fine. No garbled mess.

So is the the Digital Cable Box? Is it our TV? Are we missing something here?

THANKS tech-savvy peeps! wink.gif

Sounds like a flaky cable box.

In any event, a call to comcast is in order.

Not knowing much about the new fangled tv's it could also be a simple setting on the tv; perhaps it's not processing the HD broadcasts correctly.

Yeah... I called Comcast. They're sending a guy out.

I agree it sounds like a flaky cable box. Hope the guy brings an extra one with him!
