Anyone have problems with Sonic burner software and WMP11?
After upgrading to WMP11 Sonic ran fine but would give errors when exiting. I uninstalled/re-installed Sonic and tried to roll back WMP 11 to WMP10 (unsuccessfully) and now Sonic won't re-install and the CD/DVD burner does not recognize ANY disc when inserted.

I tried a restore point back to the earliest one I had but I have the same problem. I installed a new version of Sonic and still no luck.

My next option is a complete system restore mad.gif . Any thoughts before I try that?

Upon further review, I notice that the drive reads DVDs fine but can't read frrom CDs.

Is the drive toast?

I have tried running from a bootable DVD and get the same results so that rules out a XP problem.

Ok, CPD, I had to check with some of the more Tech Savy folks in my dept.

They said, to try to Uninstall "Sonic DLA" if that doesn't work, unfortunately your toast.

I have already uninstalled all of the sonic software. I read somewhere about DLA settings and PIO setting for the drive but have not tried tehm yet.

I am chatting with HP support now.
