I recently saw a report on a national news station about all the tax we are sending to help rebuild Iraq. I have no problems with except on Sept. 11, 2001, we were attacked, my question is this: How many other countries used their money to help us rebuild the pentagon, and how many are helping us rebuild the WTC? My other concern was one of the things listed on the report was educated Iraqis. They said a four week buisness course was going to cost $50,000.00 per person. I can go get a 2 year degree at a local college for a fraction of that. Why is it so much more for them? I think this is just outrageous. I think the President of the United States should rethink all this before sending any money over there.

I agree, although, right after the WTC attack Saudi Arabia did offered the City of New York $10,000,000 I believe. Someone correct me on that. I didn't hear about educating iraqis, and that the cost would be $50,000 per person. If so, I can see it, you have to account for their plane tickets to the US to go to the best schools. Isn't that where everyone comes for there education? Educated through government funding, so the knowledge they obtain can eventually be used against the country that educated them in the first place. I could go on about this subject for hours. I don't pay taxes for the benefit of any country other than our own, actually I have no choice, but I would want my money going to the people here in this country that need help rather than a foreign country that continues to kill americans (be it soldier or civilian). I say if the US government alone is to rebuild, then Iraq should be a province of the US. Let them sell their oil at rock bottom prices to the US, making them money to rebuild and lowering the cost of gas here. Why am I paying almost $2 a gallon when there is oil in flames over there. Somethings not right here.

Well actually I know why gas is so high here, no government regulations.

Heh, Rudy Guliani pretty much told the Saudi Represenative to take his money and cram it. After the Prince said, in a speech before he donated, that America needs to change its Middle East policy so this doesnt happen again! Rudy calmy got up after that speech and basically said to he will not accept this money after such a horrific speech, no one in NYC deserved to be killed over any Middle East policy. He also made a comment about how offended he had made all the NY Fire and rescue men and women present at the ceremony. Ever since that day I have had utmost respect for that man.

Anyway back to the topic. I agree we should not be spending billions upon billions in Iraq just so they can turn around in 3 years and say "Hey Thanks, now get the hell out", like France. I say spend 14billion and have the UN and the oil program pay for the rest.
