What players are the frontrunners for boys and girls Player of the Year for 2006-07?

If I had to pick 10 boys players to put them into the pool, here are my selections, and in no specific order as the one who should be Player of the Year.

1 - Vance Hosby, Jefferson; 2, Brandon Bryan, James Buchanan; 3, Shane Rife, James Buchanan; 4, Will Taylor, Williamsport; 5, Armond Perez, Chambersburg; 6, Kevin Kline, Waynesboro; 7, Adam Flook, Boonsboro; 8, Dave Theis, Mercersburg Academy; 9, Jaren Gembe, Greencastle; 10, Steven Barthalow, Heritage Academy.

And here are the girls:

1 - Jerica Hewett, Boonsboro; 2, Ashton Butler, Hedgesville; 3, Logan Lentz, Chambersburg; 4, Alex Baker, Boonsboro; 5, Iesha Robinson, Martinsburg; 6, Morgan Smith, Williamsport; 7, Mallory Wishard, Waynesboro; 8, any one of 3 Jefferson players (Katie Danno, Dezi Clinton or Aissa Diehl); 9, Amanda Payne, Cumberland Valley Christian; 10, Morgan McIntire, Heritage Academy. And this list doesn't count several possibilities from top-ranked North Hagerstown.

Hosby without a doubt for me. The boy/man has led his team in nearly every category.

I've seen a fair amount of girls high school games this year and while there is a number of girls that are playing great this year my vote would go to Morgan McIntire. I've seen other teams that could lose a player to an injury or fouling out and still be ok down the stretch of a game but when this girl goes out of a game the whole complection of the game changes. Some say that she plays in a weaker conference but i disagree. I've seen her play when she was younger with St. Maria Goretti's traveling team and she played with or against all of the county talent as well as Frederick County and Montgomery County talent and put up the same numbers or better than she does now. Her stats that she has put up the past two years cannot be overlooked especially coming from someone as young as her. Game in and game out she puts up consistent numbers plus her leadership on the court is imeasureable. See her play and you will agree.

Morgan Mcintire is crazy good!!! i have watched her the past two years and she is amazing. points, steals, assists, rebounds... she can do it all. she can single handedly bring her team back, as she did several times this year. 10th grade WOW, two more years for this amazing talent. i agree with the previous post. She would get my vote as well.
