This year's hard-rocking OzzFest at different venues across the United States will sport ticket prices everyone can afford: free.
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne said the 12th annual multi-band concert would be free, thanks to corporate sponsorships. The Osbournes and tour producer Live Nation announced the news during the Concert Industry Consortium in Los Angeles.
"For the last few years," Sharon Osbourne said, "ticket prices have steadily climbed as artists demand more and more money for summer tours. We certainly want everybody to make money, however, we also want the kids to be able to afford to come out and have an incredible experience."
The tour kicks off July 7 in Los Angeles.
To gain admittance to a "FreeFest" concert, fans must visit Ozzfest.com or Livenation.com to locate links directing them to special sponsor sites where tickets can be secured.

Avoid like the plague. Not only will it be a hippy festival thing with sweaty people and long lines, but it'll have oodles of children.
Not for me, but more power to those that go.

Some of the best acts I've seen were at Ozzfest. I'll never forget the first Ozzfest I went to. It was outside in Orlando, Orange County Fairgrounds. Luckily it wasn't too hot that day, and we took tons of bottled water to keep hydrated. Anyways, the hot acts that year were Tool, Megadeth, Sevendust, Limp Bizkit, Soulfly, Motorhead, Deftones, Coal Chamber, Spineshank.. and a few others I'm probably forgetting. Freakin' AWESOME. I was also surprised at how small Ozzy was.
From my experiences at Ozzfest, the kiddies usually stay far back or else they'll be looking for a good plastic surgeon.

CPD,
I don`t care for any of those.
50s, 60s, early 70s thats about it.
Oh and Prince being the best guitar player, Never happen.
Jeff Beck, Joe Walsh, now they can play.

I'd love to see Zombie. Was supposed to for my birthday last year but it didn't come through.
Man, I can't go anywhere without running into Prince lately. Even on an Ozzfest thread. I think I like it better before when no one but me talked about him.

I think my festival days are over. I took my daughter to the HFStival 2 years ago and I have never felt so old.
Any concerts I attend are going to be inside with AC and as few 12 year olds as possible

Been there, done that. I don't think I'll be missing anything if I don't make it this year or years to come
Believe it or not, I followed the Dead for a while in the late 70's and very early 80's. Before that I went through my southern rock faze, where I went to see every Allman Bro's, Outlaws etc. concert fest I could. Not to mention in between there was The Who, Led Zepp, Kiss, oh jeez I'm old...
If I were still in high school, I'd be there

Yeah, in 1977 or 78 at the Cap Center.
I've seen Hyde wear my black concert t-shirt on That '70's show!
Wish I still had it

edit: I just discovered I could buy a new one, in my new, bigger size. Looks like it must've been 1977. I was 16.

They had a lot of good concerts there. I saw Chicago (several times), Yes, The Who, Kiss, Zeppelin, The Dead, too many groups to mention. I was sad to see the place go!
