My wife and myself are in the market for some tattoos. I spoke to a few of you on recommendations in the area. I would like to hear from more folks though. I have heard awful things about Temple and a few people stated that they would never get on at Voodoo or whatever it is called now.
I am looking to get a fairly large tattoo of many "ghost" skulls on my arm.
I have also heard about the place in Winchester, VA but I heard that guy is out of his prime and he drinks a little too much.
I have heard good things about Electric Tattoo in Frederick and plan to go down for a visit. I was also up at CC Riders in Waynesboro was not that impressed.
I would love to have Paul Booth do the Tattoo but can't afford and I am not a rock star. (http://www.darkimages.com)

You want Jarod aka Mr. Naturals. He's in Williamsport and very clean, very, very good and very reasonable prices. He's the only one I'll let do any ink on me. I've been there when the Health dept. was leaving from testing him.

WV Dragon Lady thanks for the information. I have also heard many good things about Jarod at Mr. Naturals. However, a few folks told me to only get him to do your tattoo if he is smoked up. I am not stating this only relaying what I have been told. I don't know Jarod or even where the shop is. Since I cannot predict when he will be smoked up I am a little uneasy about that.
I did go down to Classic Electric Tattoo today and was VERY Impressed. Everyone there seemed very knowlegable and a lot of the work that I saw was outstanding. My wife has an appointment on Friday. I am also going back in a few weeks to talk to them about a multiple skull tattoo "Paul Booth style" they had a lot of his work in there.
I am still open to hear more personal experiences from different places.
Thanks,

I guess it's bring your own then.

I could have saved that baggie the guy in front of me at the bank dropped.

i think CPD is on to something. take your own with you and casually drop it by his feet. Oh look what i found...

you get a good tat and he gets all smoked up. win win situation

I think I'll check this guy out too. I am thinking of getting something covered up on my shoulder.

ok. I don't know where or from who you heard that piece of bull$hite from, but it must have been from a competeing shop or an employee of one or a friend of one. I have NEVER seen Jarod smoked up when he was at his business. Never! And what the man does on his off time is none of my business. I find it ridiculous to listen to that kind of trashing of a well known and PROSPEROUS business and not listen to any good recomandations. Again...if you want a beautiful piece of work, at a resonable price, and in a clean enviroment, then you should go to Mr. Naturals. nuff said.

I agree with WVD. Its probably a shop or someone who is tired of losing all their business to him.
I couldn't care less what he does on his free time as long as he does good work.
I am thinking of getting my kokopelli covered up or recolored but every coverup I have ever seen is huge and dark
and i don't want a giant black or purple flower or a huge black panther
here is a pic of the offending tat. Its not a very good pic because i am using my phone

as you can tell koko looks like hes hitting a bong instead of playing a flute. It has a special meaning for me (koko not the bong) but its the ONLY one Ive ever gotten that I now have second thoughts.

Actually, I heard similar things about Mr. Naturals except that he was on something else. I've seen a couple of the tattoos on friends that they got from there and the coloring was average. Sorry, but if you're sticking a needle in my arm with permanent ink, it IS my business of whether you are a cokehead or not.
My first preference is Classic Electric, followed by Bullet, and maybe Shayne Foy at Temple Art on Potomac.

I am thinking of going back to Ambrotos where I got all of the others but I hate driving into silver springs. I got koko in Aruba
and the blue is fading badly. He needs fixed or covered

Beautiful piece of Art! saw a guy getting one that was an Angel holding someone in his arms and his wings went the whole way up and over the guys shoulder blades. Bet it's done now and awesome!

WV, as I stated before I don't know Mr. Natural and I did not mean to offend. The two folks that told me this are regular customers and stated that they would not go anywhere else in the area. I can assure you that most of the freaks that I have met that do tattooing smoke up from time to time.
This is the type of tattoo style I want.

That is just some wicked work! (same style I like) Personally, I'd save up the cash and make a trip to NYC if that's what you really like. It's not like its that far and at least when you left you'd feel damn good about going to someone so talented. Besides, its art for life, spend the extra dollars and get something you love. Plus, his studio is probably badass.
