Looks like this movie is going to make boatloads of money. anybody go see it over the weekend?

It's on my radar, but we went to see Wild Hogs. That is one funny ass movie.

Elliot in the Morning on DC 101 was talking about it this morning. They were saying it's non-stop action. To tell you the truth I hadn't even heard about it prior to yesterday.

Legions of gay men are raving about it. Apparently there's lots of naked hard bodies in it. Straight men love the fighting but complain that there isn't enough naked women in it.

I guess nudity and violence are the only selling points?

Not that I would complain about that.

It was pretty awesome.

All of the Spartans, every single one, looked like they were chiseled out of stone... and they were fearless!

Blood splattering all over the place, flying limbs and heads... the cinematography, effects and fight scenes were stunning.

Definitely worth the price of admission.

Oh, there were two naked women.

that settles it, I am going to see it!

One of kiddoes & a bunch of his friends went to see it this weekend...he said--it was great! Lots of blood and death & boobs!
Maybe even more gory than The Patriot... (a 16 yr old viewpoint)

Iran, which turned a deaf ear last year to protests over its attempt to rewrite history through a Holocaust conference, now is crying foul over what it calls a "fabrication of culture and insult" to Iranians in the Hollywood hit movie "300."

I've assembled my troops and we're going in armed with estrogen on Sunday.

Hubby went to see 300 and said it was great. He loves a "good vs. evil" movie. I asked him if he thinks I would like it and he wasn't sure if I would last (watch the whole movie) because it's pretty gory. But, I'll give it a try when it comes out in video.

He did make the comment that the Iranians were portrayed as "evil". But, he thought the movie was based on history and mythology. So, it wasn't like a Hollywood producer made up the whole story and made the Iranians the bad guys. Seems like "history" wrote the script!

I want to see it, wife has no interest in it. Ofcourse she doesn't know about all the hard bodied naked men either.
That may change her mind.

The previews all look awesome. I love a good blood bath movie, just an added bonus if you throw in a good story.

Unfortunately I will probably have to wait to watch it on DVD, which is okay, because you can re-play the great scenes that you might miss and need to see again.

Off topic, anyone watching the Black Donnellys? So far I like it. Can't wait till the shiled comes back on in April.

Me and Jen loved it. The Princess hated it. Didn't catch Red's review of it, but she looked pleased. The one male with us used expletives and expressed a desire to stab people so I'm pretty sure he liked it a lot also.

If this movie sparked anybodys historical interest, the History Channel is running Last Stand of the 300 this month. I'm sure it won't have the blood and boobies of the movie, but will probably be a slightly more accurate historical account.

Stalking amidst the hotel lobby, swinging a thorned whip, cometh Sam! And he gives a gutteral cry:

"In the name of Thor the Mighty, I shall avenge my ancestors!!"
