Full Version: Old Forge Elemetary School ~ Jump Rope for Heart

It is nice to be able to post something positive that has happened in our schools. I think this is very special and the Principal and teachers at Old Forge Elementary School need to be proud of what they have helped accomplish ... especially Mr Sweeney the Physical Education teacher who co-ordinates this program with the children.

I would like to congratulate the kids from Old Forge Elementary School for the wonderful job that they did fund raising for the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart.
Here is a link to the story (too short in my opinion) in today's paper

I would like to especially congratulate my daughter, Mari, who was the highest fund raiser for the third grade. She worked very hard asking people and being very polite even when turned down. Of course with a face like that who could turn her down. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Griz-

Couldnt agree more. I have 2 at Old Forge and I have never met so many caring educators. It all begins with Mr. Festerman since my kids have gone there he has been the nicest person to deal with and is always there to help the kids out. He is at every after school event and even our community used the cafeteria one night for a meeting and there was Mr. Festerman working the lights and sound.

I have never had a problem with any of the teachers (lucky I guess) and my kids absolutely love the school. Its nice to read about a feel good story in the paper instead of something tragic or stupid happening in the area and our school seems to be full of great kids accomplishing great things.

tell your daughter congrats on a great job! biggrin.gif

What grades are yours in samyO. Are you taking your kids to the Skateathon (or whatever they are calling it) on March 28... I will be there with Mari... she wouldn't miss it for the world
I could not agree more about Mr Festerman... Any man who would dress up in a cheerleader's costume or sit in a dunking booth in his suit because the kids won a challenge is OK in my book... I have watched him address every kid in that school by their first name.... he is absolutely amazing.

Samy & Griz-how sweet! I liked my kid's teachers at the elem level. They went to Bester(that was scary but the teachers were nice), and then Eastern(a few problems but the teachers were sweet in the main)but now they are in mid & high...different ball game...

Y'all are so gullible. do you really think that any donated money goes where they say it does. Geeze those organizations and funds are one of the biggest monopolies of the world. Ill never donate unless I can give the money directly to the person or buy something for them thats a need. bigtime goldmines them that things are I tell ya. Y'all trust way too much.
